I am looking to add an electric brake controller to my 2023 Subaru Ascent. What is available for my car? Thank you for any help.

Hi Allen; for a brake controller on your 2023 Subaru Ascent I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty # RED24FR. This controller is simple, reliable, and won't take up space in the cab of your vehicle. The main unit installs behind the dash so only the control knob is visible, giving it an OEM appearance.
If you have a factory tow port for a brake controller you can use the Curt # C48RJ along with the Redarc adapter # 331-TPH-019 for a plug and play installation. If you do not have a 7-way and only have 4-way wiring you will need to upgrade it using the # ETBC7 and then the # RED69FR will be required for the brake controller installation. If you take a look at our video below you will see we were able to use the # 331-TPSI-001 and fit it in one of the blank switch locations on a 2024 for a nice clean look.
