Install your Curt electric trailer brake controller quickly and easily with this custom wiring adapter. Simply plug one end of the adapter into your controller and then plug the other end into the built-in port beneath your vehicle's dash.
Features:
To install your Curt electric brake controller, you need to connect the wiring of the controller to your vehicle. Certain auto manufacturers offer pre-wired options, typically known as tow packages, wherein wiring is run for you from the dash to the trailer connector on the back of your vehicle. When this is done, a port is installed at your dash so that you can easily plug in a brake controller.
This adapter plugs into the port on your vehicle's built-in brake control wiring harness. The port is located in the wiring panel underneath the dash, to the left of the steering column, near the emergency brake pedal.
No hardwiring is required to install this adapter. After you plug it into the factory port, you simply plug the other end of the adapter directly into your electric trailer brake controller. Because there are no wires to connect, installation is not permanent. You can unplug and remove your brake controller at any time to transfer it to another vehicle or securely stow it away.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this CURT custom wiring adapter for your trailer brake controller. Now this is a custom-fit part. It is designed to fit the 2019 and newer Subaru Ascent with the factory tow package. And on a custom-fit part like this, I do like to recommend you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year, model, vehicle, and it'll show you if this will work for your application. Now this is a plug-in wiring adapter that allows for a nice, quick, simple installation of your electric trailer brake controller to your vehicle.
There's no cutting or splicing required. The custom connector end right here is what it'll plug into your built-in port beneath the dash of your vehicle. And the other end right here is what it'll plug into the back of your electric brake controller. Does come with everything shown here, a couple cable ties that take up any slack in the wiring and even some installation instructions that'll describe how you connect it. Now this is compatible with time-delayed and proportional brake controllers from CURT.
Now, the brake controller itself must have the built-in plug for this adapter to connect. It does not work on controllers with the pigtail wiring harnesses. This adapter is about two feet long and it uses twelve-gauge wires with a protective covering to prevent any damage. But that's gonna do it for a look at this CURT custom wiring adapter for your trailer brake controller.
