A trailer that looks fine in the driveway can fishtail at 60 MPH. Don't be that driver. Checking your tongue weight takes 30 seconds and could save you, your rig, and everyone else from a wreck you won't see coming.
Your trailer looks fine. Your truck's not squatting. But that doesn't mean your rig is safe! The Big Truck Big RV (BTBRV) 1K scale takes the guesswork out of loading. It reads your actual tongue weight, so you'll know if you're in that safe 10 to 15 percent zone. Too far back and you'll fishtail. Too far forward and you'll overload the hitch. This scale shows you where you're at before any of that happens. This isn't just about getting the load right. Your family's riding in that truck too.
JD's the guy behind Big Truck Big RV and he doesn't just slap his name on gear he doesn't use. He's been towing long enough to know what works and what doesn't. He's used this scale, trusted it, and loaded it up with his own family riding shotgun. This scale's been under real trailers and taken on real trips, not just a showroom floor. If it says BTBRV, it's been tested and used in the kind of conditions that separate the good stuff from the junk.

Well made and easy to use with one solvable problem.
I noticed immediately that the gauge on this unit was the part most subject to damage, and very likely to be damaged. I designed and 3d printed a snap-on cover, printed from PETG filament. (I don't think PVA would work because it's not flexible enough.
Attached are some pictures and a short video showing how it is installed.
With this cover I would increase my rating to 5 stars
Just received and tested it today. It did need some blocking with my trailer but l expected that it might. So far, so good. Communication with seller was excellent. Pleased all around...!

I'm happy to hear your tongue weight scale is working well for you. Safe travels!!
Scale works as described. I appreciate knowing what my tongue weight is prior to hooking up to my vehicle. This gives me the chance to rearrange cargo if necessary to insure proper tongue weight. Well worth the investment.
I might suggest some box stiffeners in the corner of the shipping carton as my box was quite damaged when I received it. The scale was not damaged, however.
Just received my scale today. Measured my light duty trailer tongue weight and was very accurate and easy.
Works as advertised. Easy to use. Easiest to use with leveling blocks for a quick weighing.
I used it in December and it worked well. The trailer tongue weight was about what I expected. I recently tried to use it again and it doesn’t work at all. The gauge will not come off the zero line. I guess the product is good for a one-time use.
When I received the scale the outside was very oily so I cleaned the unit and turned it upside down to check for leakage - none was found. I decided to test the accuracy of the unit. I have a Shipping scale so I placed the unit on top of my digital scale and jacked up the trailer (unloaded) to compare and the digital scale measured 152 lbs and the dial read 120 pounds a 32 pound difference (BTW I did subtract the weight of the unit). This does not meet the +/- 5% accuracy as stated. However I'm testing it at low end of the scale.
Even with the 32 pound difference it is much better than a spring scale. The base size and height are good - I did need to add a block to keep the trailer level. Would have been 5 Stars - except for the accuracy issue.
Just what I needed to confirm actual tongue weight. My tow vehicle has a 600 pound maximum and this scale makes it possible to monitor without going to a Cat Scale and weighing then disconnecting and reweighing. Saves the hassle and the cost of the Cat Scale. Shipping was fast and product was well packaged to avoid shipping damage.
Exactly what I expected it to be and efficiently timely shipping. Im happy, Thanks.
Very handy device. I have a 3500 Lb camper, 350 to 525 is the 10% to 15% for tongue weight. I calculated the weight by adding up the propane tank weights plus propane and approximate battery weight and factory dry toungue weight. Made a guesstimate then compared that to the tongue scale. Within 5 Lbs of each other,425 Lbs then added water to the tank and watched the scale change with the weight. Knowing I can visually see load difference as it happens is really a nice feature. No more guessing. Wish I had one years ago
Just tried it on a mostly empty 12 ft 2 axle enclosed cargo trailer. Finding out that it was only at 300 lbs tongue weight was nice to provide peace of mind. Now I will know when I am near the 750 lb hitch limit on my truck. great little scale!
Fast shippping, easy to use. I lowered the trailer tongue down to the Weight Scale and was done. No more driving onto CAT scales and doing calculations.
Works very well. Good quality. Nice to know the true tongue weight of the camper and make adjustments as necessary.
Works great to let us know our tongue weight. Gives us quite a relief to know rather than guessing.
This tongue weight scale works exactly as I hoped it would. While I wish the reading was digital instead of analog, it still gave me the information I needed about tongue weight on a new trailer I bought recently. Light weight, easy to use.
Very easy to use. It’s nice to actually know what the tongue weight is instead of guessing. Very stable. Make sure you use wheel chocks. I would recommend getting one.
I wouldn't trust these.
I bought one to determine my trailer tongue weight so I could safely position my load to hit the 10-15% tongue weight range. The first scale I was sent would only read up to 200#s. I figured it was probably just a bad unit, so I opted for a replacement - kudos to etrailer for being very easy to work with on setting that all up.
The next one came, and it seemed to be more accurate, but my tongue weight just seemed off. I would shift heavy loads which should have created a large change and the scale barely moved. I decided to drive to a CAT scale, and where the replacement scale was reading under 300 lbs, the measured weight was 540. That's a huge difference for someone trying to stay within specific payload numbers and abide by the 10-15% tongue weight rule.
Anyways, I am now returning the replacement for a refund - again, kudos to etrailer on the process.
Great customer service! Delivered on time. Works well
Scale is heavy duty, works great!
Arrived on time well packed and undamaged. Product appears as advertised and pretty heavy duty. Will use in next week.
Easy to use, as far as accuracy: I have nothing to compare it to but manufacture’s numbers, close enough.
This works better than the plug in modular I purchased.
I am now know my actual tongue weight is correct. Very quickly.
Good product but after moving things around in my RV to balance the weight I have realized I should have purchased a 1.5 or 2K version scale.
So easy to use and now I have the confidence that my homemade trailer is safe.I got the scale quickly after ordering.
Would be nice if the gauge was tilted for easier viewing. I’m old and have a hard time getting down to see the reading.

That's really great idea, Stephen! Making a cover for the gauge is really smart because you never know what may fall or bump into it when its in the back of the truck.
