What Brake Controller Is Recommended For 2024 Toyota Tacoma
Updated 12/15/2025 | Published 11/09/2024 >
Question:
Hello, Since the new 2024 Tacoma does not have the brake controller plug in play how is a brake controller installed and which brand is used. I heard the Curt wireless can be used as people who spliced into the existing wire loom in the old fashioned install have had electrical problems afterwards. Thank you.

Hello Dave, thanks for reaching out. Since the 2024 Toyota Tacoma does not have an OEM brake control port, using a wireless brake controller like the Curt Echo # C51180 is what I recommend. It uses signal from the brake lights to activate so all you need on your truck is a 7-way with brake light and 12v power functionality. Everything is controlled via the Curt smartphone app.
