Features to know about

Keeps Your Trailer Steady on the Highway: Built-In Sway Control with Steel-on-Steel Friction

When crosswinds or passing semis start pushing your trailer around, the integrated sway control in the Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution System keeps everything steady. It uses steel-on-steel friction between the trunnion bars and L-brackets to hold your trailer in line and automatically correct sway when it starts. That same rigid design helps your trailer track straight behind you, giving you confidence and control whether you’re towing across open highways or winding back roads.

Blue Ox TrackPro hitch system showing the steel-on-steel friction points between spring bars and sway control brackets that reduce trailer sway.

Smoother Handling from the Start: Positive Caster Head Design

The TrackPro’s hitch head uses a built-in positive caster angle that works like the self-centering effect in a car’s steering. It continuously pulls your trailer back to center, preventing sway before it starts. The pre-set pitch also makes setup more straightforward—no fiddling with washers or thumbscrews. Once the head is mounted on the included 9-hole shank, you simply adjust its height and you’re ready to go.

Level and Balanced Ride: Even Weight Distribution Across All Axles

With a tongue weight range of 1,000 lbs to 1,300 lbs and a 13,000-lb gross towing weight rating, this system evenly spreads your load across all axles for a level, stable ride. By keeping weight balanced, it prevents rear sag, reduces uneven tire wear, and keeps headlights aimed where they should be. You’ll get smoother steering and braking, even with heavier trailers.

Easy Installation and Maintenance: Complete Kit with Adjustable Fit

The no-drill, clamp-on L-brackets adjust along trailer frames up to 6" tall, so you can position them around tanks or toolboxes without hassle. Grease zerks built into the trunnions make lubrication quick, keeping everything moving smoothly. The system includes the 2-5/16" chrome hitch ball, weight distribution head, adjustable shank with up to 4-1/2" drop and 10-1/2" rise, spring bars, sway control brackets, lift lever, hitch pin, clip, and all necessary hardware—everything you need to set up and start towing.

Built Tough for Long Hauls: Powder-Coated Steel Construction

Every part of the TrackPro is made from powder-coated steel that resists corrosion and holds up under heavy use. This durability means it stays aligned and keeps performing mile after mile, whether you’re on weekend trips or long cross-country hauls.

Wow can’t believe this company would mail out a product sold as new in this condition.

by:

Bought this to reduce rear sag in truck and you would think installing is pretty common sense but apparently it isn't. Instructions aren't very clear and since sad didn't go away at all, I'm guessing it isn't installed correctly. Instructions need to be MORE clear than they are otherwise you'll need to pay a professional to install it as I have no idea if it's correct or not.

Love this hitch system. I was hesitant to spend the money but I am so glad that I did. I have had the system for about a year now and it has impressed me every time I use it. I recently put a 3.5” lift kit on my truck and with the easy adjustments on the hitch system, I was able to accommodate for the lift in about 20 minutes. Would recommend

This thing is amazing! I bought this to haul my 24’ car (toy) hauler behind my 03 Suburban which has coil springs instead of leaf springs. This hitch has made a world of difference. I honestly was shocked at the difference it made. It almost feels like I’m not hauling a trailer at all.

Rock Solid towing! 15 year old truck with original suspension - just look at that alignment. Towed all along the Columbia River Gorge on a windy day and stayed in my lane the whole way.

I bought this in April '22 for our new trailer. The second day of our trip to Alaska, one of the Retaining Keys with the cotter pin fell off. It was while hooking up to our campsite that we saw it was gone and the spring bar bar had been free of mooring. Luckily we had a C Bolt and duck tape to hold the one sway bar without the retaining key and taped up the other to make sure it didn't fall off on the rest of our journey. When we called Blue Ox they sent two day to AK the two packages of the retaining key w/step. These turned out different than the ones that came on the TracPro and are thicker and shorter - I think these were suppose to come with the TracPro WD/Sway and should have been in the package when we got it. There is too much play between the sring bar and the L Bracket with the Retaining key that was in our order. Pictures for reference. If you order the Blue Ox TracPro, call make and sure you get the correct Retaining Keys with it, you should not have to buy them separately.

Received my weight distribution hitch with two days of placing my order. The hitch works well for my set up and installation was easy. My truck hitch weight is 600lbs. and max tow weight is 6000lbs. My 22ft. long RV trailer max capacity loaded is about 20% less than my trucks specs. Etrailer sells quality accessories. Their prices are good, and their experience, knowledge and customer service are the best. It would be hard to find a better dealer that could provide better service with very fast shipping.

by:

It was installed professionally by camping world. Coating is all coming off. Arms pop out during travel. The square pins fall though slots. The angled brackets that mount to camper chassis are failing. Its the worst hitch I have ever owned. Literally.

by:

did NOT fit my trailer gave you the trailer info and length of sway bar was right in propane tank !!!!!!!!!

had to repackage--- it came all torn up from shipping !! not an easy job ! Hope it makes it back

by:

I bought the 10K to replace a worn out 12K Equalizer hitch. Does the same job as my previous hitch and is lighter in weight. That helps me out since I remove it from my truck when not in use and I'm not getting any younger :)

by:

My only gripe with etrailer is shipping quality. This is a heavy item, well constructed, heavy duty, not lightweight. To ship this in a standard cardboard box without reinforcement is nuts. When delivered by UPS this box had gapping holes and part of the contents were protruding outside the shipping box. My UPS driver stated that such heavy items should be attached to a wood skeleton inside the box to keep from moving around during shipment. To my amazement all the parts were present, albeit banged up a bit with paint damage and gouging. So be aware that you may find your order in similar condition. etrailer responds to me with yada yada. Not real happy with this one but the unit itself is quite robust although a little black enamel will be required.

by:

Product was shipped very fast. I received in three days. Price was best I could find as well. The only thing I would advise for etrailer, is to do a better job shipping heavy products. My box was busted wide open, and it was defiantly an insufficient box for the items inside. I was lucky to not lose anything.

This product is almost heavier than the trailer itself very bulky

by:

I received the hitch and the box was falling apart! Obviously the box did not hold up due to the weight of the product during shipment. I will inventory all pieces to make sure everything is still there when I go to open the box.

It sounds like the box was in rough shape. I will have our Customer Service team reach out to you to make sure everything is good with the hitch.

by:

Works great... follow instructions to the letter! Took me about an hour or so to install. Works good.

by:

Terrible packaging. Shipping was a complete failure. And the customer has the problem.

by:

This is very well made and does exactly as advertised. But even better is the service from etrailer. The box was broken and a part missing and they got the part for me in less than a week. Always great customer service

by:

Great product, easy to install!

See what our Experts say about this Blue Ox Weight Distribution Hitch

  • Recommended Weight Distribution Hitch for No Boundaries 19.6 Travel Trailer
The most important factor when it comes to choosing a weight distribution hitch is going to be your tongue weight. Ideally you want your tongue weight to fall somewhere in the middle of your WDH range. Tongue weight is going to be 10-15% of your trailer weight depending on how you load it. Keep in mind, it also includes the weight of anything behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle. Assuming you are at the maximum weight, that puts you at 750-1,125 lbs for your tongue weight. The # C17063...

  • Weight Distribution Hitch for a 2020 Ram 1500 Eco Diesel
Since your main use is towing sporadically with your 2020 Ram 1500 Eco Diesel I recommend only using a weight distribution system so you don't affect your trucks daily driving. You will want to use the Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control - 7-Hole Shank item # BLU27FR. This system has a tongue weight range of 1,000 lbs - 1,300 lbs. You will want to check the height of your hitch compared to your trailer's coupler. You will want to be as level as possible when using a weight...

  • Will Using 2-1/2" to 2" Hitch Reducer Affect The Use Of Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution System
I have seen this situation several times. There is nothing wrong with using a Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve # C45405 with the Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution # BLU59FR. You are not going to loose any weight capacity with this reducer sleeve. The reducer will cause a little more play but you will still have hitch play with a Blue Ox Track Pro Weight Distribution Shank for 2-1/2" Hitches # BLU26FR. To eliminate the hitch play the Blue Ox Hitch Receiver Immobilizer III for 2-1/2" Hitch...

  • How To Choose Between 7-Hole and 9-HoleBlue Ox 13K TrackPro Weight Distribution System
In order to choose the correct weight distribution system shank length, you'll need to measure. In regards to the Blue Ox 13K TrackPro Weight Distribution System, they come with a 7-hole part # BLU27FR and 9-hole part # BLU59FR. The max drop for the 7 hole is 1.97" above the center of the receiver and the max drop for the 9 hole is 0.78" below the center of the receiver. If you need a different shank for your setup we do have other options which I have attached below but they would need...

  • Correct Weight Distribution System For A 2020 Outdoors RV 24RLS Being Pulled By A 2017 Ford F-150
I will start by saying that you should measure to the bottom of the trailer's coupler and then the inside top of the receiver hitch to find the rise or drop needed to stay level. This could explain the sway you are getting. With that being said, not knowing which model Curt weight distribution system you currently have, I cannot say if it is the correct one for your set up. From the weights you listed, I would have recommended the Curt Trunnion Style Weight Distribution System # 17302...

  • Recommended Weight Distribution System with Sway Control for Forest River Wildwood 270RTK
The best weight distributing systems for sway control are integrated systems meaning there isn't a separate friction sway bar, it's built into the spring bar. This type makes install easier and they preform better overall. I recommend the Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution System part # BLU59FR which is a complete system that doesn't require any drilling to install. It also comes with a pre-torqued hitch ball.

  • Recommended Weight Distribution Hitch for 2018 Ford F-150 Towing Forest River Toy Hauler
The ideal weight distribution system has tongue weight capacity range that encompasses 10 to 15 percent of the gross trailer weight when it is loaded and ready to tow. You can use a scale like # e99044 and I attached a link if you need a guide for measuring the actual tongue weight once you've purchased and loaded the trailer. For your trailer, 10 to 15 percent of the gross trailer weight (9500 lbs) is 950 to 1,425 pounds. Your dry tongue weight is already at 995, so let's lean towards...

  • Recommended Weight Distribution System for a 2021 Crossroads Zinger Travel Trailer
With the tongue weight being 1,250 pounds before the additions, the Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control - 9-Hole Shank # BLU59FR will most likely not be a heavy duty enough option. This has a max tongue weight capacity of 1,300 pounds, so you will need to go with something different. If you wanted to stay with Blue Ox, the Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control - Clamp On - 15,000 lbs GTW, 1,500 lbs TW # BXW1500 will have a maximum tongue weight capacity of...

  • Weight Distribution and Sway Control Recommendation for a 10K GVWR Travel Trailer
It sounds like you have the 2017 Forest River Vibe 301RLS which is just under 36' long. It looks like this has a GVWR of about 9,650 lbs so that's what we'll base our system off of. A properly loaded trailer needs to have a tongue weight that is 10-15% of the loaded weight of the trailer so if someone were to load the trailer so it was maxed out they should have a tongue weight in the 965 lbs - 1,447 lbs range. Since you're renting this out it might be good to keep a tongue weight scale...
