Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look together at this B and W Digital Tongue Weight Scale With LED Screen. Now this is gonna be a handy tool for anyone who tows regularly. This is essentially a digital scale that's designed to measure your trailer's tongue weight, and, of course, as you know, that tongue weight is the amount of downward force that the trailer puts on your hitch when it's hitched up. Knowing that number is gonna be very important because having the right tongue weight helps your vehicle handle better and tow more safely while you're out on the road.

Now this is going to be great for RV owners, boat trailers, and utility trailers, anyone who regularly hauls stuff. It's built to handle heavy tongue weights up to around 4,000 pounds, so this is going to be suitable for larger trailers. As you can see our digital scale here, we have a power button here, and then we have a tare button that will zero out the scale, but obviously I'm not gonna be able to put a whole lot of force on it, but I'm just gonna push down a little bit and you can see the scale reacting to that. So you're just gonna set the scale on level ground, you'll position your trailer's two-inch and larger coupler right over it, and then you'll just lower the trailer onto the scale, and then the tongue weight is gonna show up on this easy-to-read LED display in 5-pound increments, so as you can see, 25, 20, 10, so 5-pound increments, and you're gonna get a clear number. As you can see, it's really readable here.

You're not gonna be squinting at small dials trying to figure out what the dial is actually indicating. The scale runs on a nine-volt battery that's included. It's behind this panel, so it'll be easy to replace that battery when you need to, but a nine-volt is included with this, so you're not gonna have to worry about any weird power setups. This has precision accuracy within plus or minus 0.5%, and the height is adjustable, so I'm just going to remove this pin and clip here, and as you can see here we do have numerous holes here, so you're gonna be able to get that height that you're looking for, for whichever trailer that you're needing to measure the tongue weight on, so it's gonna be very easy to do that. The height's gonna be adjustable in 1-1/2-inch increments, and this has a maximum height of 27 inches, and then a minimum height, which I have it set at the minimum height right now, of about 19-1/2 inches.

And we also have a wide, stable base, and this is right at about 8-inches long and about 5-1/4 inches wide, so very durable, very strong, and, of course, it has B and W's black powder-coat finish on the base here, so everything's gonna hold up really well to the elements that it's going to be exposed to. And what I really am excited about with this is this case that comes with it. I mean, this case is a plastic, hard, durable case, and I think I'm more excited about this case than I am about the scale. As you can see, it's form-fitted, and so all you gotta do is drop it in just like that, hopefully you can see that, close it up, and then push the clips down here. Let me come around here.

I don't think I have the leverage that I need here. (clip snapping) Just like that. And then this is going to be nice and protected, so I love this case. I was really surprised when I pulled this out of the box to look at it with you, and I saw it in this really great case, so this is really going to protect your investment. Other scales that I've seen don't have such a great case like that, and it could maybe get damaged if you're not careful, but this case is weathertight, so it's gonna do a great job of protecting this scale. So as you can see, I still have the scale on. To shut it off I'll just hit that power button there and then that'll turn that off. So this is going to really make sure that your trailer is loaded safely. Again, too little tongue weight and the trailer could sway, too much tongue weight and it could overload your hitch, so this is gonna be a really great, easy way really, to make sure that your tongue weight is right where it needs to be, and it's a very well-built device as well from B and W.
