Hi Jeff!
To be perfectly honest, there is no difference between them. The Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller w/ Custom Harness # RED72CR comes to us already put together to fit your 2017 Toyota Tacoma, whereas the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller w/ Custom Harness # RED68CR is put together by us.
The controller # RED24FR and custom fit pigtail # RED99FR used to only be supplied to us separately and we still have this listed on our website due to that, which I will admit is kind of confusing when you are looking at them side by side. I will see if I can get our page for this updated.
With that said, I would go with the one that has the better price. Either option will work for your truck.
What are you going to be towing? And do you know where you are going to mount the knob?

Hey Jeff, I installed red arc tow pro liberty on my 2018 Tacoma, put knob on right side under climate control, there switch holder fit perfectly, and I was able to access it without removing dash. Put it in first blank , with panels removed from under steering wheel, which you have to remove for install, and is simple. Could reach in and pop blank out, and put controller in, wire is plenty long enough. But I purchased mounting bracket and installed tow pro by steering column. There video is great and made install simple. I tow a 3700lb camper ( 16 foot ) single axle, and the brake controller works great. Turn knob to desired level and go. Hope this helps

Thanks for the information Lazer. I have a tandem axle utility trailer with brakes on both axles - nothing major... Haven't yet decided on the location of knob - either left of the steering wheel in one of the blank spaces, or if I knew the wire is long enough and/or how I can get the blank out - I have an blank bay just under the climate controls in the center dash. My assumption though will be left of the steering wheel as that is easier to access by the looks of things should I ever need to get to it again. Which does lead me to my next question, which filler plate for that side - appears there maybe two different sizes?
