Question:
I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 quad cab 8 ft bed. I have an aftermarket bumper with a 10 in drop down hitch. I would like to add a class 5 hitch to the truck. I am looking at the curt 15300 and the 15319. Would either of these be low enough to clear my bumper or am I going to have to replace the bumper?

Hi Don,
There aren't any Class V hitches that will work for your 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 with your aftermarket bumper, so you'll have to revert to a different bumper if you'd like to install one, and that includes the Curt hitches you mentioned.
Since you don't have the factory bumper you can't use the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C15319, so you'd have to go with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C15300.

Hey Don, were you able to switch back to a different bumper so you could add the Class V hitch to your Ram? Knowing what setup worked could help others dealing with aftermarket bumpers on similar trucks.
