Very well built I had 1500lb tongue weight on it from my dump trailer no problem

by:

Great hitch! Been using this quite a bit. Install wasn’t too bad, drilled the holes and mounted as required. Hauled a 16’ flat trailer load of firewood for about 70 miles numerous times. I’ve also hauled a 6x10 enclosed trailer packed full of sound equipment hundreds of miles. Have also hauled just over a ton of scrap a handful of times. Very robust hitch that has given me zero problems.

1984 Ford F-150, F-250, F-350

I am very satisfied with the quality of the product. Very well made, all hardware was included, and instructions were simple. Would recommend an extra set of hands, heavy and awkward to install on your own. I also had a really great experience purchasing through etrailer which was expected. I have ordered through them before and I have ordered again since buying this hitch. Fast delivery.

by:

Price was great for this heavy duty hitch and installation was super easy.

by:
1993 Ford F-150

Worked perfectly, came with all hardware and very clear instructions. My only advise is have a set of very good drill bits. My 2nd hitch purchase from etrailer, and both times went great.

by:

Only giving 4 stars do to shipping issues. No fault to Etrailer. The hitch arived with a few days as all their products do. Box was highly damaged but the hitch was unscathed. Altho there was no hardware in the box so i will have to sorce these as im sure they fell out do to all the holse in the box. Therefore inhave not installed yet but I did put it under the truck and it appears it will line up properly and only need to drill the 4 holes that are stated in the instal video on product page.

by:
1995 ford F-150

Fit right up to frame on my 1995 F150. Had to drill all the holes,
but no big deal. Watch which washers go with which bolt, 2 are for
9/16" bolts / 4 are for 1/2" bolts.

by:

I won’t buy from etrailer again, customer service says they will take a return and then when you peruse returning something they back peddle. I gave this hitch away….lesson learned. Be extremely careful when buying from etrailer.

by:

I installed this hitch on a 1991 Dodge W250. It hangs down lower than it needs to for the factory bumper and required drilling the frame to install the hitch. Drilling the frame and the overall installation went well, however there are existing holes that could've been used had the hitch been designed differently. I do understand this hitch is designed for several applications and in that situation it is difficult to make every vehicle a perfect fit. This hitch is very stout, I like the one piece design and the load rating. I have a 14,000 gvw flatbed that I haul a variety of junk on and this hitch is definitely up for the job. The next time I need a hitch I will definitely consider this one.

Thank you etrailer! I received my hitch right away and the box was in good condition. I installed the hitch and it looks great. I bought this hitch for the increased tongue capacity over my old hitch.

by:
1987 Dodge Ram Pickup

Very happy with the hitch, it arrived on time and install was a breeze. Looks good on the frame. I have the bed off for repairs...

by:

product is solid and well made . only reason for 4 stars is that i had to do some extra drilling to get it to fit. but it's in now and i think it's great!

by:

Well made! Heavy duty for sure. Welds are nice. Coating seems very weather resistant so far. I installed on 94 Bronco this help sit trailers nice n level with 35in tires. Still think it's going to be ok at 37in tires. Recommended for lifted trucks. If installed on 2wd trucks better have ground clearance. Notice the deep side wings. But again very heavy duty. Does not sway or flex.

1993 Dodge Ram Pickup

I put this on our 1993 Dodge dually after I noticed what looked like stress fractures on the old hitch while I was having an exhaust leak repaired. The failure was probably caused by an overloaded dump trailer full of gravel. The price for this Class V hitch from etrailer couldn’t be beat so I bought it. I’ve since pulled serveral large loads with my 3400lb dump trailer, the heaviest being a load of gravel weighing 5.67 tons according to the bill. More than 1000lbs shy of the 16000lb limit and it pulled great, even at over 60 mph. This hitch is heavy and well made. I use a forged ball mount with square tube clamp attached to make the assembly rigid. You’ll be amazed at how much this will quiten all of your towing. I feel like I got a great deal from etrailer on this hitch and wouldn’t hesitate to buy it again if we get another truck.

The purchase of the Curt hitch receiver was a very smooth and timely process. The email communication was very responsive. I received my order in only a couple of days. The hitch is well made and sturdy.
The packaging was quite damaged upon arrival to no fault of eTrailer.
I highly recommend them to anyone looking to buy a hitch receiver or anything else.

1997 Ford F-250 and F-350 Heavy Duty

Very happy with the product. Was able to install by myself in a little over an hour, fit like a glove and has performed flawlessly with the loads of firewood I've been hauling. Shipping was fast, and the overall experience with etrailer was absolutely fantastic. Etrailer was one of the only websites that had an accurate description of the frame width/depth dimensions that made ordering the right hitch a breeze. Would recommend Etrailer to anyone in the market for Heavy Duty/Standard Duty Receiver Hitches, and all other trailer needs. Thanks for the great product and will be hauling with this hitch for some time. Have a Blessed day

by:
2013 Ford Ranger

The hitch is extremely heavy duty and I highly recommend this product. Etrailer has great customer service, I received the hitch a day before the expected arrival date. I installed this on my 1977 Ford F-150 Ranger with the help of my 13 yr old grandson. This receiver hitch fit my truck perfectly, no modifications were needed. We removed the spare tire, drilled the holes and mounted the hitch per the instructions. The entire process took a little over an hour. I use a Shocker Hitch with an airbag, and it fits this hitch perfectly. I highly recommend Etrailer.

by:

This trailer hitch is a great, sturdy hitch. I recently just pulled 9000 lbs of cargo from Memphis TN to Charleston SC and this hitch performed flawlessly. It's well made, and I anticipate years of reliable service from this product.

by:
1996 Chevrolet Cobalt

One extremely tough hitch. I have a 1996 Ford F250, the body shop thought it wouldn't work. I got it home and with a lot of grunting and drilling (use a new cobalt bit), I was able to bolt it, one side at a time. When drilling, use some cutting oil that's used for black iron pipe (Oatey, found in plumbing will work).

To make sure your carriage bolt plate will seat flat, make sure to drill as close inward toward the center of your vehicle as you can, allowing yourself enough metal as is reasonable. Thanks etrailer for the expedited shipping and great phone help. I've attached some pics for those who want to see what it looks like installed.

by:
Ford F-150

Very happy with the service and the products. My Ford F-150 pulls a big trailer, with a lot of equipment weight, so the hitch and accessories have to be heavy-duty.

I had a couple of questions, and they were answered within a reasonable amount of time, and I was able to order the correct parts.

The order arrived in record time. Everything fit as advertised. I've got a rock-solid trailer hitch now, that's up to the task.

eTrailer.com has my full recommendation.

by:
1989 Ford F-150, F-250, F-350

I'm pleased with my purchase. I wanted the highest capacity for my 1988 F350 4WD Crew Cab, that I could find. This one at the time I selected it, had the second highest towing, distributed-towing, and tongue weight rating of all of them (that would fit my truck). There was a really nice Torklift that had double (stacked) 2x2 receivers with the best rating, but it was significantly more expensive, and the Curt I got matches my truck's max tow rating. I didn't set out to get the welded one-piece unit, but it just turned out that way. Having seen it in person, and installed it, if someone has a similar truck, I'd have no problem recommending. It's a heavy heavy unit, that will last the lifetime of the truck.

im very happy to find a custom fit for my 40 year old truck, ordering was easy and delivery was a day earlier than expected. thankyou E trailer.

by:
Ford F-350 Super Duty

I bought this product with the understanding it may not fit with my 10" drop bumper though it was designed for my application (1995 F350 DRW). Thanks to etrailer who gave detailed measurements in their FAQ section for the C15300, let me measure my truck and figured I could make it work.

It installed fairly straight forward like most hitches and I simply had to adjust the bumper brackets and use 3/8" (.375") x 2" bar stock to make spacer blocks for all the mounting points. It tucked up exactly like I wanted compared to the other options and it fit in place of the step bumper receiver plate I had in place.

I purchased the C15300 because I like the fully welded design and gusseting that leads to its ratings. I am very happy with my purchase and etrailer's product offerings.

  • Recommended Class V Trailer Hitch for a 1989 Ford Super Duty
Hey Roy, for your 1989 Ford Super Duty I recommend going with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C15300. This trailer hitch has a gross towing capacity of 16,000 lbs, a max tongue weight capacity of 2,400 lbs, and fits larger 37-1/4" frames. This hitch does not however, fit models with roll pan bumper. • Class V Trailer Hitch Fit for 1993 Ford F350
Because the mounting flange of the Curt # C15511 Class V hitch has 3 tabs on each side, rather than a continuous mounting flange like many other hitches, it'll fit around the rivet shown in your photo. However, be aware that the Curt # C15511 is a fit for cab/chassis models only and won't fit a vehicle that has a standard truck bed on it. Chassis/cab models have a narrower frame which is why this hitch wouldn't work on a pickup model. If you have a pickup model with the 37-1/2 inch frame...

I spoke with my Curt representative, who tells me that the front face of the receiver would sit 10-3/4 inches rearward of the rear-most mounting hole. If you find the rear most mounting hole in the underside of the frame member and measure 10-3/4 inches rearward, it'll give you a good idea of how far back the face of the receiver would sit. I've edited a photo for you that shows this dimension.
