Towing Capacity for a 2001 Dodge Ram 3500

Question:

What class rating is on stock 2001 dodge 3500 ? Im towing a new 34 foot race Trailer total weight with car ,generator , atv ect. 14,000lbs. I went to a 20,000lb ball but kind of thinking of replacing hitch. with the curt 15319. what you think?

I did a little research on your 2001 Dodge Ram 3500 and found that it's max towing capacity is listed as 13,900 lbs. I would strongly recommend you check the owners manual of your truck to see what Dodge lists as the capacity for your truck and be sure not to exceed this figure regardless of what hitch you install. When determining your overall capacity you must always go with the lowest rated component in the setup as the overall capacity.

The Curt Hitch part # C15319 that you referenced would be an excellent hitch for your 2001 Dodge Ram 3500. I would only recommend it though if your truck has a higher capacity than the capacity listed on the hitch.
