To install this hitch, do you need to modify the plastic bumper, or just the plastic sheeting under the rear end?

Hey Alex, to install the Curt hitch part # C63ZV you only need to trim the lower plastic cover that you referenced and not the bumper cover at all. Basically you need to put an opening in the plastic cover to allow the hitch opening to pass through.
