Question:
I have a 2012 BMW X5 35i Sport Activity with the M Sport Package and I need to add a trailer hitch and wire connection. Will the Curt #13077 and the wire harness kit #C59236 work with this SUV model with the Sport Package? This is not the 400 or 500 horsepower M5 model and is just a X5 35i with the larger wheels and wheel well flares. I reviewed the 2012 BMW X5 install videos however the X5 in the video did not have the M Sport Package so I want to make sure this is the correct items to order. Also, do I require the #18136 long bracket and #18136 tow bracket if I want to have the wire connection mounted close to the hitch instead of running the wire out the back of the vehicle?

Good questions, and yes, the Curt hitch and wiring harness will fit your 2012 BMW X5 with the M-Sport package. If you take a look at the cut out I added of a customer review, you can see that the hitch is a fit; so exactly what you need is the following:
- Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13077
- Vehicle Wiring Harness # C59236
You are correct about the brackets as well, though the 18136 bracket was replaced by a different long bracket; so what you need are the Curt No-Drill Bracket # C57202 and Mounting Bracket # 18144.
