Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this Weigh Safe 180 hitch with two ball mount for your two inch trailer hitch receiver. This 180 hitch is going to slide into your two inch receiver, and this is going to give you a two inch and two and 5/16 inch double-sided tow ball making switching tow ball sizes very easy, and this is going to give you a maximum drop of six inches in this orientation. And then when you flip this over, a maximum rise of seven inches, and you're gonna have an incremental adjustment of one inch. So this is going to give you that height adjustability that you're looking for so you can tow trailers of different heights with the same vehicle.
The gross towing weight on the two and 5/16th inch hitch ball is 12,500 pounds. On the two inch ball it's 8,000 pounds, and this has a maximum tongue weight of 1,500 pounds. And this hitch is constructed of aircraft grade aluminum giving you superior strength and durability. The solid block construction is going to give you greater strength and a lot of hollow steel options, but it's gonna maintain that lightweight. So this is obviously gonna be rust proof.
It's gonna keep this clean finish. It's good, the finish is gonna stay the test of time. This is gonna be great for using around the water for your boat trailers 'cause you're not gonna have to worry about rust and corrosion. The hitch balls are chrome plated, so again they're gonna do a great job of resisting corrosion. And this does feature this dual pin slider lock that's going to make adjusting the height, and switching the tow ball size is very simple.
This does include this rubber cover. This is gonna protect the lock core from dirt and dust and debris and things like that. But lemme give you a brief demonstration of just how easy this is going to be to adjust. So I'm gonna insert one of the keys here and just turn that lock. And then that's going to allow me to remove the pins here.
So the lock housing is double, it is steel, it's a steel plated lock, so that's going to be, it's gonna hold up well against the elements. And then the pins are aluminum along with the housing. So again, this is going to hold up really well for you. And then just to adjust this, you can easily slide this up and down looking for that height adjustment that you're looking for. And by the way, this can also be stowed. So I'm just gonna go ahead and completely remove the ball mount here. And then when you drop it in like that, this is going to be able to be stowed just like that. You'll just line up the holes there. So you're not gonna have to worry about bumping into the ball with your shin when this is not in use. So that's a nice feature that this includes. So I'm just gonna go ahead and flip this around. So very easy to adjust everything here. What I like about this is you're not going to be at the back of your truck struggling with this. Everything's gonna work nice and smoothly. See how easily everything slides into place like that. And I'm just gonna remove the, or replace the cover rather. So very easy to adjust, very quick to adjust. You'll be good to go. So lemme line this back up here, and I'm gonna retrieve my ruler here and give you some measurements that might prove helpful for you. So measuring from the center of the first hitch pin hole to the center of our ball, about eight and a half inches on center. And then the second hitch pin hole to the center of the ball, about nine and 5/8ths inches on center. And then in case you were wondering about the measurement from the center of the second hitch pin hole to the end of the shank, about one and 7/8ths inches. This is V5 and J684 certified. Been looking for a while on a new hitch and finally pulled the trigger. Etrailer made it fast and easy to get the hitch I wanted at a fair price.
After 3 months one of the trailer chains bonds against the hitch while taking a shape turn and bent the key to flip the receiver ball. So we are basically stuck with a 2 5/16 receiver since it cannot be opened and flipped. Aluminum is nice but weak at the same time.
Fast shipping as always! While I haven't had the chance to use this hitch yet, it looks like a high-quality product straight out of the box. I plan to test it this weekend and will update this review if I remember after putting it to use.
Very solid and beautifully finished. Fits well on my 2016 Ram 2500 4x4, with the newer 2-1/2" receiver, allowing the exact height necessary to level my toy hauler. Ball mount is packaged in foam to ensure it is pristine when it arrives.
Got the locking dual pin for it, as well as the BOLT locks for hitch and coupler, so none of this pretty stuff walks away. Very happy with the whole setup.

Hitch works well. Seems it could be a bit tighter when in receiver on truck but overall is a good purchase.
Good product feels very sturdy. My only critique is that it has too much play causing a lot of rattling. The manufacturer should have a tightening bolt so that after installation the two components tighten up and there’s no play.

This is a solid hitch, the double pin on the ball side locks everything in tight no rattling and love the locking mechanism on this unit… Price is excellent and delivery time wasn’t that long… Great job to you guys at etrailer
Great product. Craftsmanship is top notch.
Easy to use and very sturdy built. My only complaint is the standard coated Balls rusted pretty quickly and look bad. I Should have went with the upgraded stainless steel. Also the salt from 1 winter has left some corrosion on the aluminum of the hitch and the sticker fell off. None of these things affect the function, but i wish it would have stayed looking as nice as it did when it was new.
