Arrived on time and installing now

by:

Good fit, not terrible to install. No issues since install.

by:

Fitment is precise, hardware as well. Installed with hand tools.

by:

Great fit, easy installation, and looks great.

by:

Not as described. Shorter that claimed.

by:

Easy as possible from start to finish. It was easy to research and select the correct receiver online. Then the Youtube video providing instructions was spot on. installation took approx 2.5 hrs only because I was super cautious removing the bumper. And it looks wonderful!

by:

Very solid

by:

Worked great, held up awesome!

by:

The reason I bought from you was because of your installation video. The video for the hitch and the electical wiring was the key for me. The hitch works great. Hope you continue with videos to help us DIY'ers.

Install video super helpful

BMW X5

Really works great! The setup fit my BMW x5 and gets medium/heavy use on a weekly basis to pull a smaller trailer.

by:

Bought this for my 2016 BMW X5. Exceptionally low price for the quality of the product. Fitment was excellent and the hitch sits up high and close to the bumper cover but remains easy to access. Value was a 10/10.

by:

The Hitch assembly is SOLID! Perfect fit for a F15 BMW X5. Self installed followed the Etrailer video which greatly assisted with the installation. However, definitely requires moderate experience, removal of the rear bumper required patience due to all the clips and securement. It is recommended to use a plastic molding removal tool set to carefully remove bumper as not to damage paint and trimmings.

2013 BMW X5

It took a while to receive the hitch due to COVID-19 but finally arrived. I used the installation video from the website and it was the same car as mine. Removing the bumper I took my time and followed step by step on the video. I tend to brake stuff when I rush. Installing the hitch was easy. I made the cut on the bumper 2.5” instead of 2.25” as stated because it was sitting better and less pressure on the bumper. Reinstalling the bumper was just the reverse of taking it off. I really appreciate the included push pins for the flares vs rivets. I had actually gone out to purchase a rivet gun but didn’t need to use it. The whole process took about 2 hrs.

by:

The Curt 13077 hitch feels really heavy-duty, thick metal, very sturdy, and Made in the USA. The item shipped in good packaging and arrived without a scratch. The installation instructions made available by the etrailer crews on YouTube are excellent (these videos actually is the reason I bought from etrailer instead of other places),The Curt product and etrailer are both deserved all stars!!!

2018 BMW X5

God product from Curt, and etrailer did a phenomenal job on the installation video. The paper instructions enclosed from Curt were not even worth it. I would suggest instead of trying to drill out the blank rivets with tires on, just snipping them off. Took a few hours with one person, but just take your time as not to snap something. Would recommend buying etrailer!

  • Hitch Needed to Use Curt Bike Rack with 2014 BMW X6
As long as you had a hitch installed on your 2014 BMX X6 like the Curt part # 13077 which is a confirmed fit the Curt bike rack part # C18085 would fit and work well. For a tilting bike rack, it's really hard to beat this rack for the money. If you were looking for something entry-level that will still get the job done this would be a really great option!

  • How Can I Mount a Kayak Carrier with a Rooftop Cargo Bag?
I have an answer for you. Since you have Thule AeroBlades that measure 36-38" wide and the Rightline Gear Sport Jr. # RL100S50, that leaves only 6-8 inches for the kayak carrier. We unfortunately do not have a kayak carrier option that is compatible with 6-8 inches of crossbar space. With that being said, the only way to transport a kayak carrier like the Thule Hull-a-Port # TH849000 is to remove the Sport Jr. from the rack. If you still want a bit of roof-top storage space, you can...

  • Hitch, Wiring, Brake Controller, Camera, and Weight Distribution for 2015 BMW X5
First thing you need to tow a trailer with your 2015 BWM X5 is a trailer hitch like the Curt # 13077 which is mostly hidden and had more than enough capacity for your trailer. Next for trailer wiring you'd want the part # 119250KIT to provide the 4-way lighting functions. To convert to a 7-way and install a brake controller you'd then want the part # ETBC7 with a brake controller like our Brake EVN # TK63VR which is proportional, reliable, and also priced well. For a camera setup for...

  • Comparing the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 75600 and the Curt Trailer Hitch # 13077 for a 2015 BMW X5
Although the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, part # 75600, and the Curt Trailer Hitch, part # 13077, are both great hitches that both have a 6,000 lb max Gross Trailer Weight and a 600 lb max Tongue Weight, I recommend going with the Draw-Tite # 75600. The reason that I recommend the Draw-Tite # 75600 over the Curt # 13077 is because the Curt hitch requires that you use a stabilization strap, like part # 18050, for any non-trailer loads like bike racks and cargo carriers per the Curt warranty....

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch And Wiring For A 2015 BMW x5M
Hi Matthew, For a 2015 BMW x5M you would need the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e84AR. This is going to replace the bumper beam and just have the receiver tube sticking out for a cleaner look. The installation is a bit involved because removing the fascia on a BMW requires a lot of care but is doable if you're a DIY kind of person. If not, you can use our installer locator (linked below) to find a shop near you to complete the installation. If you're planning on towing a trailer...

  • Hitch Recommendation for 2015 BMW X5 with M Package- not Performance M
I talked to my contact at EcoHitch and the determining factor with this is whether or not your M package includes the backup sensors or not. If you do not have the backup sensors on your 2015 BMW X5 the ECO-hitch # 306-X7265 will work for you. If your X5 with the M package includes the backup sensors you won't be able to use the ECO-hitch so you need to go with the Curt # 13077 which has been confirmed for use on the 2015 BMW X5 M Sport or M performance. This hitch recommends that the...

  • Comparing Curt and Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receivers For a 2017 BMW X5
The Curt # 13077 and Draw-Tite # 75600 are both at a weight rating where it could be considered a class III or IV. A class III is rated up to 6,000lbs with up to 600lbs of tongue weight. While a class IV is rated higher there is not a specific number that a receiver must have to be a class IV. You do often see receivers which will say class III/IV since they fall into this similar style weight rating where some manufactures will consider it class III while another will rate it as a class...

  • Trailer Hitch Receiver For a 2014 BMW X5 35i Which Does Not Require Removal Of Impact Structure
The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75600 is going to be our closest receiver which meets your requirements on your 2014 BMW X5 35i. The Curt # 13077, Draw-Tite # DT36GR (76903), and EcoHitch # EH44FR (X7403) all require the removal of the impact structure which you do not want to remove. The Draw-Tite # 75600 does not require removal of the impact structure but still will require trimming of the rear fascia as all the receivers for your X5. I recommend installing the Curt...

  • Tow Package For A 3000 lb Boat Trailer On A 2015 BMW X5 28s
For your 2015 BMW X5 28s I recommend the etrailer class 3 round tube trailer hitch # e84AR. I like our etrailer hitches a lot. They are virtually identical to the Curt brand hitches, but are priced slightly lower. Who doesn't like saving money? The etrailer brand hitches have a matte black coating while the curt brand is a glossy black finish. This hitch is rated for 6000 lbs towing and 600 tongue weight and will be plenty strong for your 3000 lb boat and trailer. With that I also recommend...

Hey Ron, We don't offer an all-in-one kit but we do definitely have what you need. For the hitch you'll want the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13077. For the wiring you'll need the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness w/ 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector and Installation Kit # 119250KIT. This will give you a 4-pole connector to attach to a trailer without brakes. In order to connect to a trailer with brakes you'll need the # ETBC7 along with a no-drill mounting bracket # 18136. • What Trailer Hitch Will Fit The 2017 BMW X5 With M Sport Package?
Hello Kevin, thanks for reaching out. As far as the 2017 BMW X5, fitment really depends on what hitch you are looking at. For example, the Curt Class 3 Hitch # 13077 fill fit both the M models and non-M models. So in other words, it fits all models of the 2017 X5. Then on the other hand we have the Draw-Tite # 75600 you were looking at. This will NOT fit models with the M Sport package. It is for non-M models only. My recommendation for your 2017 BMW X5 M Sport is the etrailer Class...

  • Hitch Recommendation for 2014 BMW X5 M Sport Package
I'll start by saying that with all hitch installations on any of the 2014 BMW X5 models, there is some trimming of the fascia required-it's really unavoidable. If you wait until the end of the video for the Draw-Tite # 75600 at around the 8:30 mark, they explain that the previous owner already had a hitch installed so that the fascia was already trimmed out, but that you would in fact need to do some trimming. With that being said, I've seen some conflicting reports that the Draw-Tite...

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring for a 2015 BMX X6
Yes, Curt trailer hitch # 13077 will fit your 2015 BMW X6. The amount of trimming of the fascia isn't specified by Curt but it will take place around the hitch receiver. In the video showing installation on an X5 you can see the trimmed area is minimal. It will be comparable on your X6 but could be a little bit more. If you plan on doing some towing I recommend etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch...

  • Is a Stabilizing Strap Required on a Hitch for 2018 BMW X5
On the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13077 for your 2018 BMW X5 there is no requirement for the Curt Cam Buckle Stabilizing Strap for Hitch-Mounted Accessories # 18050. The strap is recommended for use with bike racks and other hitch-mounted accessories to avoid putting too much strain on your trailer hitch. Some Class I and Class II 1-1/4" hitches may require that you use a stabilizing strap to ensure that the hitch does not experience excessive torque while transporting your gear but...

Attached is an install video we did of this hitch on a 2017 X5 but it didn't have the M Sport Package. We did have someone else install this on an X5 with the M Sport Package and I'm attaching the photo they sent in for you to check out. There are two available trailer hitch options for a 2011 BMW X5, the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75600 and Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 13077. The Draw-Tite hitch that you also mentioned is indeed designed for the BMW X5, but it will not fit the M model. The installation of a trailer hitch such as the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 13077 which is what I recommend for a 2014 BMW X5 will require you to remove the rear bumper fascia which does house the reverse sensors. That said, the sensors themselves will not be removed rather left on the bumper. In order to free the rear bumpier fascia however you must remove a pigtail which contains the circuits for the reverse sensors but this is very easy to do. I have attached an install video...

  • 2-Inch Trailer Hitch for 2017 BMW X5 M Version
Curt 2-inch Class III hitch # 13077 is a confirmed fit on all versions of the 2017 BMW X5, including the M version. I confirmed this with Curt. Mounting it on this vehicle will be fairly involved as hitch installs go, and significant trimming of the rear fascia is required. All non-trailer loads - bike racks, cargo carriers and so forth - should be supported with stabilizing strap # 18050. Failure to properly support these loads will void your hitch warranty from CURT.
