Balancing a trailer shouldn’t feel like guesswork. The Weigh Safe hitch shows your tongue weight the moment you hook up. The built-in gauge in the ball mount platform automatically measures load pressure—no separate scale or weigh station needed. It’s an easy way to confirm safe distribution before you hit the road, taking the hassle out of setup every time.
If you haul more than one type of trailer, this adjustable mount keeps up. The shank fits 2" x 2" receivers and lets you move the platform up or down in 1" increments for a maximum 6" drop or 7" rise. It comes with a 2" ball rated for 10,000 lbs and a 2-5/16" ball rated for 12,500 lbs, so switching between coupler sizes is quick and simple with the locking dual pins.
You can feel how solid this thing is from the first time you pick it up. The shank and platform are made from tough 6061 T6 billet aluminum that stays strong without extra weight, and the stainless steel hitch balls fight corrosion from road salt and grime. Everything is SAE J684 certified and VESC Regulations V-5 compliant for dependable towing strength.
When you’re done towing, there’s no need to pull the hitch off the truck. Just remove the locking dual pins, flip the ball mount platform to the backside of the shank, reinsert the pins, and it tucks neatly under your vehicle. It keeps shins safe and your setup clean while staying ready for the next haul.
Every part stays where it should during use or storage. The included locking pin set deters theft by securing both the shank in the receiver and the platform on the shank—all keyed alike with four keys included. It’s a small detail that adds real peace of mind when you’re leaving your hitch in place between trips.

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this Weigh Safe built-in scale hitch with two stainless steel balls for your two-inch hitch receiver. Now, this ball mount is going to slide into your two-inch hitch receiver, and it's going to give you a two inch and a 2 5/16 inch hitch ball, and they are going to be stainless steel. And this is going to give you a drop, a maximum drop in this orientation, of six inches. And then when you flip this over, you're gonna get a maximum rise of seven inches with incremental adjustment of one inch. So this is going to give you that adjustability so you can tow trailers of different heights with the same vehicle.
Now, the gross towing weight when you're using the 5/16 inch hitch ball is going to be 12,500 pounds. When you use the two inch ball, it's gonna be 8,000 pounds. And the tongue weight is 1,500 pounds. Now, this does feature a tongue weight scale that's actually built into the ball mount platform, as you can see here. And this is gonna help you balance your trailer for safer towing.
This scale is going to let you know if your load needs to be adjusted before you tow, and it's very simple to use. This will automatically provide a measurement every time you couple your trailer. So this is going to be efficient and hassle-free. It's going to eliminate the need for separate or commercial scales. So it's a great feature that this hitch provides.
This also features a dual pin slider lock, which is going to make adjusting the height very simple. I'm gonna remove this included rubber cover here that's going to protect that key wave from dust and debris. You are going to get four keys here. They're all keyed alike, so one key will operate both the slider lock and the included hitch lock, which we'll talk about pretty soon here. But I'm gonna go ahead and insert one of these keys, turn it, and that's going to allow me to easily remove the dual pin here.
While I have this out, I wanted to point out that the pins are aluminum, the housing's aluminum, but our lock here is plated steel. So very durable, and it's gonna do a great job of resisting corrosion. So as you can see, this is going to slide right off just like that. And so adjusting this is going to be very easy. And then while I have this platform off, I do wanna show you how easy it is to swap the ball out as well. So I've got my two-inch ball right now, and inside here, there's a pin with a little ring. So I'm just gonna go ahead and pull this ring, and that's going to allow me to remove the pin just like that. And then all I need to do is pop out the two inch ball, slide in the 2 5/16 inch ball, and then make sure those holes are lined up there. And then that pin's gonna go right back in, and then you just wanna make sure that that ring is sitting flush. And then I'm gonna retrieve my shank here, and then I can just adjust this however I need it, and you'll be good to go with the 2 5/16 inch hitch ball. So I'm gonna slide this back in and lock that into place. And what I appreciate about this is it's very easy to adjust. So you're not gonna be struggling at the back of your truck trying to get this to adjust. It's not gonna be difficult, it's gonna be very easy, very simple. This hitch is constructed of aircraft-grade aluminum, so this is going to give you superior strength and durability. The solid block construction is going to provide greater strength than some hollow steel options, but it's gonna maintain a light weight, and this is obviously going to be rust-proof for a clean finish that's going to stand the test of time. Now, I mentioned this locking hitch pin that's included, that's going to, of course, keep his mount securely attached to your vehicle, and this is gonna be very simple to use as well. So you got a cap here to protect that keyway. So I'm just gonna insert one of the keys here and unlock it just like that. Now, what I appreciate about this hitch lock is I don't need the key to lock this back into place. So I'm just gonna turn this again, remove the key, so the head is already locked. And so when I'm ready to lock this back up, all I have to do is push it in and then it's locked. So I really do like the convenience there. So again, you're gonna get four keys. All of them are keyed alike. They're gonna work interchangeably with the hitch pin lock or the dual pin slider lock. And just some measurements to give you, just so you have a good idea of the size, measuring from the center of the first hitch pin hole to the center of our ball, we're sitting right at about 8 1/2 inches. Moving over to the center of the second hitch pin hole, about 9 5/8 inches. And then from the center of the second hitch pin hole to the end of the shank, about 1 7/8 inches. was told during chat session that hitch was made here in the USA. But it is made in China. It does seem well made just disappointed that I was told made in USA. Fast shipping well packaged no damage. They could tell that on there web page to save any confusion.

The hitch is very high quality, no questions it’ll take the full 12,500lbs is rated for. etrailer customer service and shipping is another story, arrived rattling around in a cardboard box with no package material. The lock kit box was absolutely destroyed but fortunately the lock was undamaged. UPS delivery because the shipping label came off. I tried contacting etrailer by email twice because UPS kept telling me my package was damaged, never heard a thing back. Luckily my driver figured out it belonged to me and was able to get the box relabeled.
Received my new hitch today and can’t be happier with the build quality. Excellent customer service! Can’t wait to test it out on our next trip.
I downloaded the APP. It took me awhile to figure out how the App work. I think I have it figured out now. It would be nice to give a QR code to a video on how the APP set up works. The Hitch overall is made very well.
I was very pleased with the fit and finish of the Weigh Safe hitch and scale. I also purchased a standalone tongue weight scale and was happy to see both of them give me very identical readings. I would like to see an additional pin on the height adjustment pin so it’s not relying solely upon the key lock. I would certainly recommend this hitch for someone that wants to know their trailer tongue weight. Will definitely cut down my trips to the CAT scale and provide a more accurate measurement. I can also move weight around and see direct results on the tongue.
