Question:
Hello. I have a 2021 Mazda CX-9 with a Draw-Tite 76020 Class III hitch. The horizontal clearance distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the outer edge of the bumper is about 6. I am looking for a hitch mount with a 5inch rise due to the relatively low receiver height. Will the shank length and angle of this ball mount clear the bumper?

Expert Reply:
The Brophy Ball Mount # EA60 only has a 4-3/4" distance from the end of the shank to the center of the hitch pin hole so it will most likely contact the bumper of your 2021 Mazda CX-9.
Instead I recommend the Curt Channel Style Adjustable Ballmount # C45901 which is going to give you approximately 6" in length from the end of the shank to the center of the rear hitch pin hole as well as the 5" rise you were needing.
You can use part # 63845 for a 2" hitch ball or for a 2-5/16" ball you'd want # C40007.
