Question:
C13284 says it is not a fit for the 2022 cx-9, but one of your expert question responses says that it is and it looks like it fits previous cx-9 years. Is this just because that part wasnt explicitly updated to include the 2022 model? Assuming it does fit, can you suggest the other parts I will need to tow a U-Haul trailer with a 2inch ball? Thank you.

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13284 is a confirmed fit for your 2022 Mazda CX-9. I verified this with Curt. When we installed this on a 2020 CX-9 we found the receiver height to be 13-1/2" from the ground. I recommend the etrailer 2-3/4" Rise or 4" Drop Ball Mount Kit # EBMK4 as its 2-3/4" rise will put you at 16-1/4" and most trailers have a 16" coupler height.
You will also need the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118278 to operate the trailer lights on the U-Haul trailer. The Mounting Bracket # C58001 will allow you to secure the 4-way to your receiver.
