I have a troubleshooting solution for you. One of the most common problems we see with the red locking knob Yakima FullSwing 4 Bike Rack # Y02465 is that the lock needs to be unlocked before engaging with the knob. If that doesn't work, sometimes the threads can become rusted/corroded and may not engage even when the knob is in the "unlocked" position. If you think that it is possible that the threads may be rusted/corroded, I recommend applying a spray lubricant like WD40 or PB Blaster to see if it will loosen the threads.
If these solutions fail, the only other option is to drill the lock and replace the speedknob assembly with the Replacement SpeedKnob and Wedge Assembly for Yakima Bike Racks # 8880508 with new same-key lock cores # Y07202.
