If you like a clean, factory look when you’re not towing, this setup keeps things tidy. The hidden design leaves nothing bulky or awkward sticking out from the front. The removable arms twist out easily, and the included receiver covers plug in to keep dirt and debris out while giving a finished look. You get a smooth front end with no exposed brackets or protrusions to bump into when walking by.
Connecting your tow bar is quick and straightforward thanks to the twist-lock arms. Each arm slides into the receiver, rotates until it locks in place, and secures with the pin. When you’re done towing, pull the pin, give it a twist, and the arm comes right out. It’s a simple, secure system that makes setup easy whether you’re at home or on the road.
This base plate bolts directly to the chassis with no welding required. The sturdy steel construction spreads towing forces evenly across the frame to help prevent stress on your suspension components. The powder-coat finish resists rust and corrosion for long-term reliability through cross-country miles and varying weather conditions.
The sturdy lugs pair perfectly with Blue Ox tow bars for a solid connection every time. If you have a Roadmaster or Demco setup, adapters are available separately (RM-031, RM-031-5, or DM9523041). Integrated mounting points also let you add an electrical connector plug bracket (sold separately) so your wiring can be neatly installed right where you need it.
This kit is designed for a direct bolt-on installation—no welding needed. It secures firmly to your vehicle’s chassis using the supplied mounting hardware for a solid fit. With bracket spacing of 20" and a bracket height of 14", it’s built for balanced alignment within your towing setup and dependable performance trip after trip.

Its been two years since installation of the Blue Ox Baseplate. Since then, Ive flat towed the CRV from NJ to FL and back three separate times with many other shorter trips in between. Paired with a Blue Ox Tow Bar, the system has worked flawlessly since installation.

Follow up. Ive put about 8000 miles on the setup and its been great. A 34 ton suburban pulls nicely behind my Dutch star, and they dont have a steering lock so its nice not to have to retrieve keys when stopping for the night. I have used the safety cable attachment a few times for straight line pulls with a small shackle when working as a rally racing volunteer, its been fine but I wouldnt side pull on it.
