Does Hitch Installation of etrailer e98848 on 2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid Require Sensor Relocation Kit

Question:

I see a lot of questions about the CR-V Hybrid and what trailer hitch will work. They mention a Sensor Relocation Sensor Kit to make the gate opening sensor work after install of the trailer hitch. Where do you get this relocation kit, how much does it cost? Need more detail about that kit.

When installing a hitch like the etrailer # e98848, you may or may not need the sensor relocation kit; we've seen some customers that have reported that the hands-free lift gate still works but that it requires touching a very specific spot and some that have wanted to add the kit. The Power Liftgate Sensor Relocation Bracket as part # 08U59-TLA-100A is a Honda part that would need to be obtained from the dealer directly.
