Does the hands free tailgate need to be disengaged to install a Class III - 2inch # 306-X7345 hitch for a bike carrier?

The lift gate feature on your 2022 Honda CR-V Touring Hybrid is blocked or obscured to the point you have to actively try to find the sweet spot where it still works with hitch receivers, like the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2" item # e98848, you were looking at. You won't have to worry about disengaging it to use a bike carrier.
