Does the Receiver Extend 4-1/2" Past the Hitch Pin Hole Towards the Front of the 2021 Honda CR-V?

Updated 11/03/2024 | Published 10/29/2024

Question:

Does this hitch: Identify that you have at least 4 ½” from your hitch pin hole towards the front of your vehicle. Doing so will ensure that the Hitchgate will be able to engage its wedge lock design eliminating any wobble or play in your receiver that you may have. For 21 CRV Hybrid Touring and Hitchgate Solo from Wilco Offroad carrying full size spare tire. Thanks

The etrailer Hitch item # e98848 does not have 4-1/2" of clearance towards the front of the vehicle due to an additional support that attaches at the end of the receiver. This additional support is common amongst all the available hitches for the 2021 Honda CR-V.

Herred, Do you know of a hitch that does have that 4.5" that will fit a 21 CRV hybrid? Thanks.

@Charlieo No, I do not. They all require that additional support brace.

@JerredH Slightly less demanding tire carrier. Does this hitch do it? The hitch will need to be within the following parameters: - The distance from the center of your hitch pin to the back of your hitch (toward the front of your vehicle) Minimum 3.75" (if open back) 4" (if plated back) - The distance from the center of your hitch pin to the furthest protruding point on your bumper Maximum 4.5
