works as advertised. Installed it on my 2020 sprinter (2021 Winnebago Revel) with my old bike rack. It clears the ladder and swings out of the way to let me open the rear passenger door 90 degrees.
I waited 6 months because it was on backorder. I was offered other swing away hitches but I chose to wait. After receiving it, nothing comes close to the ease of operation and how smooth the bearing system is. No binding at all. Well worth the wait.

Still consider this the best decision I have made. By far the best swing away hitch on the market. Does not bind or creek when loaded up.
Excellent product, solidly built and easy to install. I was hesitant because of the full size spare tire on the back ladder. The videos and the specifications (especially the sizing details) gave me all the info I needed to make the decision to install it on my Sprinter. The swing away rack gives me full access to the rear of the vehicle. I wish I had bought it sooner.

The Kuat works perfectly. If you want easy access to the back of you vehicle this is exactly what you need. One year in and Im completely satisfied with the product.
The pivot is very solid and does exactly what we wanted...holds our heavy e-bike rack with e-bikes, all while enabling us to open the rear doors of our Ram Promaster Van.
Fast delevery. Very well built swing arm. Only product I know that will work on a bronco Sasquatch edition .

The Kuat Swing Away is wonderful! It is simple to install and works perfectly. In the past we have left our bikes behind because we either had to take them and the bike rack off the Jeep at every stop or leave the back door and window closed for the duration. This product completely solves the problem and looks good too. The etrailer review video was spot on and a big help in making our decision to buy. I highly recommend this product and, as always, etrailer.

This a quality made swing out hitch. I would recommend this to other people. We have two fairly heavy fat tire electric bikes we put on this. I have used this behind our camper, on our Jeep and also on a hitch I welded to our Art Show trailer that we tow behind our camper. The show trailer has a ramp style fold down door and this hitch allows us to access the trailer without taking the bikes or hitch off. I did have to modify the ramp as the ramp will not go down to the ground as the first arm of the hitch is still in the way when the bikes are swung out, but that would be the case with any brand of swing out hitch and the fact that I have adapted it to a purpose that is not a normal situation! FYI, and nothing to do with brand or quality...I was originally going to order the driver side swing out hitch and then changed it to the passenger side as I was thinking about one particular show where while unloading the trailer the bikes would swing out into traffic, which was not an option. But otherwise, swinging out the passenger side gets in the way of accessing the camper as our camper access steps are off center on the passenger side. It would be more convenient to have it swing away to the drivers side away from the steps. But that is just our situation and if you were to use the swing out hitch while parked on a road you would want the hitch to swing to the passenger side. The hitch was also too close to the camper steps while closed with the bikes on so I added a 1 foot extender hitch between the main hitch and the bike hitch which gave us clearer access to the camper. This creates a little more movement the further you get away from the main hitch but I tie the swing out hitch on either side to the camper to stabilise it while we travel to reduce sway. Overall it works great and I would recommend it.

This sounds like a great set up but I would like to note that this pivot hitch extender is not to be used with hitch adapters, reducers, or other extenders because using those things will reduce your hitchs overall capacity by 50 percent. While using the pivot hitch extender, you are already doing this.
Product video by Adam on this website took the guesswork out of this purchase. We put the Pivot to task with our Ebikes and are totally satisfied with this well built and designed product.

This Kuat Pivot 2 swing away hitch extender solved a huge problem for me. We have a camper van (Class B) based on the Ram Promaster. The back doors swing open to the sides, and we need to be able to access that area a LOT when camping (water controls, electrical cord storage, etc. are back there). With a bike hitch attached to the 2" receiver, there was no way to open the rear doors more than about 6 inches. The Pivot 2 allows us to swing the entire hitch to the side in less than 5 seconds. You release the over-center latch, squeeze the release lever, and swing the hitch. So easy a child could do it. And it's super-sturdy with no "bounce" or "rocking" motion whatsoever (thanks partially to the Anti-Rattle Trailer Receiver Lock - eTrailer part # 63232).
Exactly what I was looking for. Can swing the bikes out of the way to access the truck bed. Locks back into position and I am not worried about it being secure.

Highly recommended. Well made. Used it to swing the bike rack out of the way during a 2 week, 1800 mile trip with multiple stops at campgrounds for tent camping. Loved how I could swing it out of the way to access the camping supplies while the bikes were still on the rack.
Needed this to clear the spare an my Bronco Raptor. Hitch pin can only go in one way because of the wiring harness, no big deal. Need to make sure the "wedge" is fully retracted for the pin to go in smoothly. Passenger side swing is perfecy for me.

This is an excellent product. Very solidly made, easy to operate and easy to install/remove. I use it to swing my bike to the side so I can more easily access my hatch-area. Beware the small stub that sticks out however! It can bang your shins! The rack operation is smooth, and the safety-latch works very easily, and prevents the bikes from swinging back if the car is parked on a hill.
So handy. Easy install. Worth every pen ny.

We Love It! To be able to swing our e-bikes out and to the side or our Van has been super helpful. Owning it now for a year, it still is working perfectly. We also use hitch tensioners and straps coming off of our class B van to provide additional support and stability on bumpy roads. We would buy it again!

This is the coolest bike rack ever. I bought it with the swing out arm, also from Kuat so I could gain access to the stored items in the back of the Jeep. It worked out great! It even has led lights which help since I use a bike cover which obscures the Jeeps tailights.

Etrailer did a great job of getting the swing away to me in time for my trip. The kuat swing away itself seems well built. It was a bear to install, but ai finally managed to convince it to get into my hitch receiver. One thing to note. The assembly instructions are not accurate.
I bought this swing away hitch / tire mount combo to attach a full size spare to my Rivian R1S for a road trip. It performed very well and was a much more affordable option than some of the other products out there which are tailored more for off-roading (rig'd, wilco etc..). My spare is 33" so had to purchase a 2" spacer to keep it from making contact with the vertical post of the tire carrier, and I also attached a 3rd party license plate holder just to be overly cautious. I'm happy I'll be able to use this swing away hitch extender for my Kuat bike rack which I feel also adds a lot of value. Everything arrived very quickly, and the communication from Joshua at E Trailers was top notch.

When camping, this helps move the bikes out of the way so we can access the cargo area easily on our 2025 Defender 130. It is sturdy and makes just enough space to clear the spare tire. We us it with Kuat NV 2.0 Base Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitch.
This has been really good.
After using for a year with bike rack and hitch cargo rack on my jeep wrangler I would recommend it to anyone.
Heavy and well built. The included Allen key makes it tight and rattle free.
It pushed racks back 6 inches so I shortened the 2 inch pipe but that is just a personal preference.

After a year still very happy with hinge. A little faded, no rust, it went to Mexico with a cargo rack and sat in the sun last winter. Worked great with heavy load, in past bike rack was perfect too

About a year with the rack now and its still as solid as day 1. No rust, no slack.
