Question:

I have a 2018 Dodge Durango that does not have a wiring package from the factory . I have installed a Mopar hitch and now want to wire it to allow pulling a small trailer..I see Curt part C56336 and Tekonsha part 118617 seem to be perfect for this need. Is there a recommendation on which part to go with or is it a toss up? Any real differences in the two parts?

Great question Fred. I recommend to use the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat part # 118617 for the 2018 Dodge Durango without a factory wiring package. The Tekonsha can handle over 1 more amp per circuit of power compared to the Curt wiring harness part # C56336 so you don't overload the vehicle's electrical system. The Tekonsha converters are also known to last longer compared to the other brands. Although both wiring harnesses will work for the 2018 Dodge Durango, the Tekonsha brand wiring is better quality.
