Question:
Hello, I am looking for a hitch lock for my new Flash 20k adjustable hitch. BUT I am very afraid that the lock mechanism will corrode and leave me completely screwed. Its happened to me before and I have seen it happen many times to other people. I understand there are some stainless ones, but all it takes is a non-stainless spring or tumbler to corrode and have a nice day!

I really like the Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock part # BW74FR that you looked at. B&W always uses the best quality materials available and tries really hard to protect everything from the elements. When working with customers I have never heard of this one failing. As always with any lock when left out in the elements indefinitely you may run into some. I have always had great luck with spraying a little light viscosity lubricant into the lock core and around it when I first get it and treating it again every six months to a year.
Another one I really like and have never had issues with is the BOLT Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2" and 2-1/2" Hitches part # BL7023582 for GM Center Cut Key, part # BL7018447 for Ford, part # BL7018448 for Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep and many others available depending on your vehicle. This uses your ignition key from your vehicle to unlock it. They use very high quality factory type tumblers and lock cores that we all know seem to never have issues remaining easy to use even with sitting out in the elements 24/7. It also has a very sturdy cover to protect the core further. These locks are also available in pad locks, cable locks, coupler locks and spare tire locks to have every lock type you might need on your trailer all keyed to your ignition key.
There are no stated weight capacities for the hitch locks.
