BOLT (Breakthrough One-key Lock Technology) has solved that problem by designing a line of locks that can operate with a key you already have handy - your vehicle ignition key.
When you insert your own key into the cylinder, spring-loaded plate tumblers move up and down until they are matched exactly to that key. The first time the key is rotated, the cylinder is uniquely coded to that key. When the key is removed, the cylinder moves into the locked position. When the key is turned again, it will rotate to the unlocked position.
BOLT is particularly useful in commercial applications. Imagine being able to send a crew without having to sign out multiple keys for a work truck, trailer, hitch pins, and equipment locks. With BOLT, the vehicle key becomes a master key. It opens all those locks and you no longer have the hassle of getting to a work site only to find that you've brought the wrong keys.

I have these on all my pickups except the King Ranch, doesn’t have a key. Cuts back on keys on the ring. Works great on the RV with the Ford V-10. If multiple people have keys to the trucks they also have a key for the hitch pin. Perfect.

Very easy to set up with vehicle key and seems to be well made. My only con thus far is that the head is big and partially blocks where my tow chain clips to on the hitch. It still works but you have to get it just right.
This lock is perfect! It uses the ignition key, so one less key to worry about. It also fits the 2-1/2 inch receiver which not all do. I purchased the same coupler lock as well.
I have not had one issue this pin! And better yet no one has stolen my hitch. It is fantastic not having to have another key to carry around or lose. It came super fast (as I recall). Opened it, I sorted my key gave it a twist and I now always have the key with me. It stays in my pickup or I stalled and so it is always ready to go when I am.
The BL7018447 bolt works great the Blylock jam nut lock for my 5th wheel sundowner trailer did not fit. had to modify the washer to fit the jam bolt. Hole in washer was too small. overall very happy with products. Had to return one part and got gouged on the refund. Thanks
These are excellent locks, vehicle keyed specific to yours. I highly recommend these. I give as gifts, but also have one for my truck.

Having recently purchased a chrome led step from etrailer I needed something to make sure it didn't walk away. Have always been interested in Bolt lock products so the hitch lock was a logical choice and no extra key to add to the key ring. Lock keyed easily and immediately put it to work. Haven't had a chance to use the product yet for the fact I just received it yesterday...looking at the unit it is as advertised and the quality seems to be good. The two main features that I like is the rugged stainless pin and lock assembly. The second great feature is the “programmable” ignition key…the lock is specific to the auto maker (mine is a Ford) and it’s very simple to program your vehicle’s key and works great! etrailer has been a great place to get my truck and trailer accessories…great products and delivery times, at this time I highly recommend e-trailer for all your vehicle and trailer needs.

I love the Bolt Lock hitch lock. Simple to use and always operates easily as the cover keep the crud out of the lockset. I have one for each vehicle and won't use any other hitch lock.
I LOVE that I can use my truck key to unlock this and it seems very sturdy too. I feel like the rubber key hole cover might break off some day though and when it's installed, the locking mechanism is so wide that it interferes with the safety chain hook. But I highly recommend!
Another great product from "Made in China". The hitch extension is made with heavy gauge metal, the powder-coated paint job is heavy duty and resists scratches. The additional hitch receiver serves not just to receive another hitch such as a bike rake, but also as a step for me to step onto the towing truck bed. Overall it is a very well designed and well made product, definitely worth the price.
Nice not having to carry (find) another key for the hitch locks. However, it is forever tied to that vehicle. They cannot be re-keyed, at this time. It's a good product and I have recommended them a few times in the past.
I’ve received my Bolt Trailer Receiver Lock in a timely manner. I bought one about 13 years ago for my boat trailer and have loved the ease of its use and being able to key it to the truck key so I don’t have to look around for the key! I now got one for my horse trailer!. I bought a couple extra to leave in my truck hitch and my other vehicle that can also be keyed to the day lock!
Works great on a pickup but lock cylinder is quite large. It is 3 1/8" long and 1 5/8" wide so if you have a Ford SUV like an Escape you might want to measure available space before ordering. You would need about 6 3/4" of available space to be able to insert the key into the lock. Nice to have only one key for my F-350 that has an lockable auxiliary tank/toolbox combo and is double pulling a fifth wheel with a dog trailer behind it.

Very happy with the Bolt locks and having all the locks keyed alike.
It's great to not add yet another key to the RV keyring! This is a great idea, BUT the locking portion is large. Depending on how your RV's hitch and safety cable attachment points are configured, this may not allow enough space for your safety cable hook to attach to the RV, unless you're using fairly lightweight cables that attach with S hooks.

Still a happy buyer a year later! If you need a locking hitch pin, get one of these. You wont be disappointed.
I don't know what to say except this is a great receiver pin/ lock. Other receiver pins either don't lock or you have to keep track of keys. Then if they do lock, weather corrode the lock. The bolt lock solved this. The key is my car key. I can't lose it. And the oring, on the pin and rubber cap keep the lock sealed . Highly recommend this!

Still awesome to have a lock with a key that virtually cannot be lost
DOES NOT FIT NEW F-250's. DO NOT GET CONFUSED LIKE I DID AND LOSE ALL YOUR MONEY. THEY NEED TO LABEL THESE BETTER.

Love it replaced one I must have left in my bumper. Love that it keys to the truck so no worry what key is needed.
I have multiples of these for locking various cables and hitches to my vehicle. It is the best thing since sliced bread. It keeps my key bring down to just a couple of keys instead of 7 or 8 different lock keys for various locks. You can also pick them up in a shackle style lock as well.
I love my bolt lock. I had traveled from the Midwest to the East Coast and I didn't worry at all about losing my wheelchair or bracket.
Quality product. Especially loved the fact it is unique to my car key. I definitely would buy this again.
