BOLT (Breakthrough One-key Lock Technology) has solved that problem by designing a line of locks that can operate with a key you already have handy - your vehicle ignition key.
When you insert your own key into the cylinder, spring-loaded plate tumblers move up and down until they are matched exactly to that key. The first time the key is rotated, the cylinder is uniquely coded to that key. When the key is removed, the cylinder moves into the locked position. When the key is turned again, it will rotate to the unlocked position.
BOLT is particularly useful in commercial applications. Imagine being able to send a crew without having to sign out multiple keys for a work truck, trailer, hitch pins, and equipment locks. With BOLT, the vehicle key becomes a master key. It opens all those locks and you no longer have the hassle of getting to a work site only to find that you've brought the wrong keys.

Totally Awesome Product. Just put your vehicles Factory key in the lock and turn it, now the lock is set for you vehicles key. Not only that, the lock is smooth and Easy to use every time over time. I am so impressed and happy with this lock. I also purchased 2 Pad Locks at the same time with the same results, Love these Locks! All Locks are working as good as the day I received them. The weather caps work perfectly. These are very substantial heavy duty locks. Packaging and Shipping where also No.1.
I have this bolt lock, keyed to my Jeep ignition key. The self-keying is simple and takes less than a minute. I also have the other bolt products including a trailer tongue receiver pin lock, pad lock and Jeep hood lock. They are all excellent products.
I had one of these on my other vehicle for about two years. It never got stuck and worked fine with the ignition key in all midwest temperatures during the year. I just got another one for my new pickup. To buy a product again, has to say something about the reliability of this product. Very easy to code the lock with your ignition key.
Great Idea. You'll Always have the key to the hitch pin if you have your truck key. Recommend adding a washer to the locking side to provide some separation between the lock and the hitch pin hole. The lock can block the safety chain hook clearance but am always able to work around it.
I have used this product before on my 2019 ford f350 . It is nice to have a lock with same key as my truck. I now have a 2023 ram 3500 and once again I have purchased this lock Thanks your product is top notch.

Prefect I like the fact that my tow hitch lock is keyed to my truck
I love these hitch pins. I first saw this type on my work truck and I recently bought a new hitch and want to protect my investment so I bought this and it works great.

Fantastic
Good hitch receiver lock on first impression. Easily coded to my 2021 Ram 2500 key which I was curious about. Time will tell how this holds up, it looks and feels like it will.

I would now give this 5 stars for how its held up. Still works like new. I only wish they had more compatibility between makes of vehicles, as I wish they made one for Subaru.
Now after owning this hitch lock for a year I can honestly say that I have replaced all of the locks on my other vehicles with these locks. No more lost keys, no more searching through every inch of the car. Somethings just work and this is one of them. If you like to streamline your life and lose the nonsense this is your kinda gear. Makes life a little easier.
I love that I am able to use my car key on this. It’s nice not to have to carry another key. Plus this a very sturdy and quality lock
This is a great product. Easy to key and use. The one knock is that it can’t be re-keyed. If you had a mail in service to do that it would be great. My vehicle was totaled and I had to buy a new one so that’s what made me think of it. Otherwise, I get great piece of mind that my trailer or bike rack is secure.
Quality product, super convenience of using the truck key
Well this receiver lock is so easy to key with my jeep key and looks great to. You don’t have to search through all of your keys on your key ring to find one particular key unlock your receiver Bolt is the way to go.
I have owned several of these locks on several different trucks. Unfortunately for me I’ve had to give them away when I traded them in being I couldn’t keep the key to unlock it. I could’ve kept a key but that wouldn’t be honest so I just gave them away after explaining how they worked to the purchaser. I can say that they are the best hitch locks made and they aren’t something you want to attempt to try and cut off! I really enjoyed watching a guy who broke his key inside the lock when he was drunk and angry he worked on it for hours and had no luck cutting it off. I suggested he call a locksmith and his drunk mentality overload his common sense abilities. He made my night just laughing at his stupidity even the next day. Locks are worth the money. I have two on my Gen Y 16k drop hitch.

Items arrived on time and fit properly.
Wanted a lock that you can only use one key, and this one works great. Also didn't want anybody stealing my tow hitch cover I also bought from etrailer.
Works great on the new 2-1/2" hitch that came on my 2016 Ram 2500 4x4. Super easy to key lock to my Ram key. Trying to eliminate as many keys as I can.
Was a little bigger than I thought, but still clears the two chain hooks. Solid and beautifully finished.
As you can see in the picture, I also got the matching BOLT coupler lock.
I have had this for one year and it has worked perfect. Very easy to set to your key and easy to use. The only "issue" is with it's size sometimes the hook to your hitch plate can get stuck behind it making it a little tricky to unhook if you don't want to remove it. Pretty minor for the security it gives over having just a cotter pin holding your trailer on. To avoid just make sure hook is not trapped when you lock it on. Highly recommend!
Such a clever lock! I just use the key for my truck to open it. The keyhole cover fits snugly and seals out road spray and dirt. The lock does not interfere with the chain hooks. I have a 2022 Ram 2500.

Sure is nice using the ignition key for the trailer hitch lock. Trailer rocks.
eTrailer was great. However, I might not have ordered from them if I knew they were shipping with USPS. It arrived 3 weeks after it shipped.
