BOLT (Breakthrough One-key Lock Technology) has solved that problem by designing a line of locks that can operate with a key you already have handy - your vehicle ignition key.
When you insert your own key into the cylinder, spring-loaded plate tumblers move up and down until they are matched exactly to that key. The first time the key is rotated, the cylinder is uniquely coded to that key. When the key is removed, the cylinder moves into the locked position. When the key is turned again, it will rotate to the unlocked position.
BOLT is particularly useful in commercial applications. Imagine being able to send a crew without having to sign out multiple keys for a work truck, trailer, hitch pins, and equipment locks. With BOLT, the vehicle key becomes a master key. It opens all those locks and you no longer have the hassle of getting to a work site only to find that you've brought the wrong keys.

Easy to use and the rubber cover keeps all the dirt and salt out of the lock
This hitch lock worked perfectly and smoothly. As a bonus, the unique key matching feature allowed me to set the entry to be with the ignition key - always nice to have one less key to keep track of...
Pretty handy not having to have a bunch of extra keys. I store it and my hitch under the seat so cannot comment on resistance to road chemicals

The Bolt receiver locks are excellent. I've installed them on 4 of my vehicles without issues.
The lock worked as expected. The locking mechanism when on the pin and installed on the truck does interfere a little with the trailer's safety chain. It doesn't make it impossible to use, just a little more difficult. On the plus side, it does work with my truck's key and that is great. It keeps the number of "extra" keys to a minimum. My truck is a 2015 Silverado 2500HD with the factory towing option. When it comes down to it, I would buy it again.
love the fact you can use your vehicle key to unlock, no need to carry yet another key.

Not only can I start and unlock my truck with the same key now I can also change out my hitches with the same key. I wish I could do this for my bed cover as well
Initial fit and finish looks great. Inserted my GM key and turned clock-wise until it would turn anymore. My non-locksmith guess is that the little noise it made along with the slight "crunching" sound was it setting the key pattern. After that, it turns very smoothly. Time will tell if I can use my key or have to cut it off when I set up to tow my camper.
It is well made and being able to use my truck key to unlock it is so convenient
Convenience of a single key is amazing. Works great. One downside is the lock portion is very large which interferes with chaining up the trailer. Doubt there is a fix and it is probably variable depending on hitch used but something to consider.

After a year this is still a great product and the convenience of using the vehicle key outweighs any minor downsides.
It's nice to have just one key for all the locks connected with my boat trailer and spare tire.
This is an AWESOME product! Same key as the truck. No more extra keys or forgetting the key for the receiver lock. Great customer service and priced right. If you have a Chevrolet or GMC with a larger receiver, GET THIS LOCK!!

I bought three Bolt Trailer Hitch Receiver Locks. I absolutely love them. You can't beat the convenience of using your ignition key as the same key to unlock the Bolt lock. It is a two for one deal. Now all three of our hitches are safe, secure and convenient to use. Etrailer website was very easy to use. I was unable to find two of our vehicles receiver locks elsewhere, Etrailer had them. Super fast delivery. If you need a Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock, Bolt is the way to go and ETrailer is the place to buy it!

It’s been great! You always have your truck keys with you soon need for different key for hitch. Extremely handy and works as designed.
The pin would not fit in the lock. I had to grind it down slightly. Once that was done works great.

I reached out to the manufacturer and there was a small batch that were made that did have a larger pin head. It has since then been corrected and I also had our stock checked as well. The manufacturer will reach out to you.
No extra key on my keyring and no need to remove from my truck. I can just leave it on, making towing much easier. The only thing I don’t like is that the big end block the frame loop for chain attachment. Any locking hitch pin is going to do the same thing, though, and I really like that this one is now specific to my truck key, so this hitch pin is a winner, in my opinion.
Easy to set up. Works great.
i ordered a lock for a 2018 f-150 and got a lock for a GM truck
Excellent product. I like that it is keyed to my Tahoe key- very convenient.

Just what I ordered
This is friggin awesome. I have dozens of hitch pin lock keys and it takes some effort, to know which key goes to what lock. Not anymore. I took out my ignition key (chevy) put it in the lock and twisted it. In less than 20 seconds, the lock was keyed to my ignition key. Outstanding!!
This is great! Works perfectly, and if I ever lose the key for it, I have bigger problems and trying to open the lock… lol. Being able to program the key to the vehicles back up key is just convenient as heck.

Been a year and I havent touched it until today when I removed my B&W 3-ball hitch so I can use my weight distribution hitch. Not s single issue removing it.
