Are you tired of carrying a bulky ring of keys - for your hitch lock and coupler lock, your pickup cover or trailer door, and all the various padlocks securing your equipment? Tired of fumbling for the right key or having to replace a lost key?
BOLT (Breakthrough One-key Lock Technology) has solved that problem by designing a line of locks that can operate with a key you already have handy - your vehicle ignition key.
When you insert your own key into the cylinder, spring-loaded plate tumblers move up and down until they are matched exactly to that key. The first time the key is rotated, the cylinder is uniquely coded to that key. When the key is removed, the cylinder moves into the locked position. When the key is turned again, it will rotate to the unlocked position.
BOLT is particularly useful in commercial applications. Imagine being able to send a crew without having to sign out multiple keys for a work truck, trailer, hitch pins, and equipment locks. With BOLT, the vehicle key becomes a master key. It opens all those locks and you no longer have the hassle of getting to a work site only to find that you've brought the wrong keys.

For those with a 2021 GM key that embeds into the fob… it works with this product!
I have installed it and demonstrated it several times to guys on my fire department. I and them all love it and they will be ordering it also.
No extra key on my keyring and no need to remove from my truck. I can just leave it on, making towing much easier. The only thing I don’t like is that the big end block the frame loop for chain attachment. Any locking hitch pin is going to do the same thing, though, and I really like that this one is now specific to my truck key, so this hitch pin is a winner, in my opinion.
Initial fit and finish looks great. Inserted my GM key and turned clock-wise until it would turn anymore. My non-locksmith guess is that the little noise it made along with the slight "crunching" sound was it setting the key pattern. After that, it turns very smoothly. Time will tell if I can use my key or have to cut it off when I set up to tow my camper.

What a slick setup. Lock and pin all in a line and rubber cover over keyhole. Since it uses my Toyota tailgate key it is easier than fumbling for yet another key to get ready to hook up a trailer.

I still like all of the Bolt products and am still using them. I would say that I do not recommend the Bolt padlocks as while they have the same great key setup I think the shackle is too long, too thin, and too exposed for easy removal by a small grinder or bolt cutter. Otherwise great stuff. I do wish they actually made a hockey puck style padlock instead

This lock traveled 27,000 miles in the elements of the open road, back trails, and numerous boat launches over the last year; I absolutely love the ability to set it to my vehicle key, it’s held up really good, and works every time. Definitely recommend!
My second one, my first was keyed to a different truck that was totaled by a bear. Very reliable product and simple way to lock your receiver to your vehicle.
So much simpler to just have have the truck key and be able unlock the pin. As others have mentioned the lock is very big and you may have trouble hooking up your safety chains. You may find if you remove the lock and then hook up you chain, it may make it easier. Just don't forget to put the lock back on. I just wish they made a coupler lock now.

Perfect. I had one with my old truck, but I had to trade it with my old truck. I love them. One key.
Convenience of a single key is amazing. Works great. One downside is the lock portion is very large which interferes with chaining up the trailer. Doubt there is a fix and it is probably variable depending on hitch used but something to consider.

After a year this is still a great product and the convenience of using the vehicle key outweighs any minor downsides.
Really handy to have a locking pin option that works with the factory key. A little difficult to get used to the feeling of it locking as its a pretty self locking action, but I've done plenty of pulling with it and it's secure.

The pin would not fit in the lock. I had to grind it down slightly. Once that was done works great.

I reached out to the manufacturer and there was a small batch that were made that did have a larger pin head. It has since then been corrected and I also had our stock checked as well. The manufacturer will reach out to you.

I love the fact that there is no extra key involved.
This hitch lock worked perfectly and smoothly. As a bonus, the unique key matching feature allowed me to set the entry to be with the ignition key - always nice to have one less key to keep track of...

Worry free addition to my towing equipment. The special feature of matching the lock to the vehicle key is GREAT because I dont have yet another key to keep track of and I have 2 trailers that each use a different hitch so am swapping out all the time.
I bought three Bolt Trailer Hitch Receiver Locks. I absolutely love them. You can't beat the convenience of using your ignition key as the same key to unlock the Bolt lock. It is a two for one deal. Now all three of our hitches are safe, secure and convenient to use. Etrailer website was very easy to use. I was unable to find two of our vehicles receiver locks elsewhere, Etrailer had them. Super fast delivery. If you need a Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock, Bolt is the way to go and ETrailer is the place to buy it!

I like this hitch lock much better than the CURT lock with the cylinder instead of the block that the other guys use, I'll fit my hitch and chains much better without wearing on the cylinder then the block that they use plus I like the idea of using my center cut key that I can take out of the key fob for my pickup.

Been a year and I havent touched it until today when I removed my B&W 3-ball hitch so I can use my weight distribution hitch. Not s single issue removing it.
