Brad Hello neighbors. It's Brad here at etrailer. And today we're taking a look at the vehicle-specific wiring harness, that will work in conjunction with the Tow-Pro Elite electric trailer brake controller. These harnesses are going to be great to work with your Tow-Pro Elite in a variety of different trucks and SUVs. Now, make sure that you get your vehicle-specific harness. You're going to want to use our fit guide on "etrailer.com", and that's going to make sure that you get the right harness, and that way your install goes nice and easy.
Included in the REDARC kit, you will find this plugin adapter, and this is going to have these spliced ends, and you're gonna have to tie into your brake signal, your brake output, your power output and your ground. Now, if you are pretty handy with electrical, that's awesome. That's great. You can use this. But I'm the kind of person, plug and play in OEM kind of setup or really nice factory one like this.
This is the vehicle-specific harness. So this ties in directly to our factory tow system, and clips right in, it's got this nice braided sheathing on it, to kind of protect the wires, and then it plugs directly into our module here. So, to save yourself a little bit of headache and time, and make the install go that much smoother, and not have to worry about loose connections, I highly recommend getting the vehicle-specific harness. So this end of the plug is specific to your vehicle. As you can tell, it looks like the factory plug, it fits in perfect, has the locking mechanism, so you aren't gonna have to worry about loose connections happening with your plug, and it's going to make install a lot easier.

Clean install. I really like these Redarc controllers. 2021 Nissan NV 3500 Passenger. etrailer kit with controller and wiring adaptor was just the thing. Under dash drill access for mounting the module isn’t ideal, but doable. Great kit and great price. Looks great

One year in and only have use the controller a few times camping. Installed on a 2022 Nissan Frontier Pro4X. Really like the way the brake controller worked. Easy to install and set up and very adaptable to changing conditions. I had a problem with my truck battery dying and realized that the Redarc brake controler was causing a parasitic draw so it had to be disconnected. The truck was brand new and the issue resolved as soon as the controller was disconected. I wrote a letter to etrailer explaining the issue however they did not offer any solution for me so I am stuck with a controller that may not be usable. Going camping for first outing this year in a couple of weeks so I will hook it back up and see if the problem returns. So I would rate excellent for how it works but poor for the issue it caused. For now I would have to be generous and give an average rating all things considered. I was disappointed that eteailer didn't offer a replacement. I will be camping with an extra battery on board just in case.

I want you to be able to use the controller with confidence and without draining the battery. I reached out to RedArc about the battery problem that you have been having with the controller. They had additional questions to ask about the controller with performing a few more current draw tests. Would you be able to use a multimeter to measure the current-draw through the Black wire to the unit? This would help to show if the TowPro is using more power than it should be. If it is then it can definitely be replaced under warranty, They also wanted to see if you could grab the serial number from the side of the main unit. With this information we can get you taken care of.

Quality connections are holding strong. It is making great connections!
Installed in my 2021 Frontier. There is a round knock-out plug where the ignition/key fits on previous models, so it was easy to mount the switch there. Fastened the controller to the sidewall under the dash, behind and to the left of the diagnostic port. A couple of zip ties and done. The hardest part was drilling holes for the control knob.
Connected perfectly and was long enough to dress nicely under the dash.

The led light doesnt shine through very brightly as I adapted one of the spare knockout plates to mount the control knob. Regardless the controler is doing what its supposed to do.
E-trailer needs to include the knockout holder for the knob in the standard offering for the Frontier. Most of the time spent installing was carving on the factory supplied blank. I would have gladly paid for the click-in holder which I thought came with the custom plug-and-play harness. Otherwise, it was super easy, thanks to Nissan supplying the harness connections. The panel removal was easy enough with just one screw to remove.
A plug and Play for my Nissan Armada. My vehicle came with the wiring harness already there so it was easy to install.

I love the Redarc Brake Controller. I am about to buy a new tow vehicle and I will be adding another Redarc Controller to that vehicle.
This harness makes the install a plug and play process. Just can't beat that !

Not much else to say about a harness except that it fit perfectly and made the electric brake control install easy as can be.
SUPER EASY to install in a 2021 Frontier. The controller box can be easily screwed/ziptied to the under dash structure in a couple places, and the adjustment control fit nicely in a blank plug in that was in the dash. The unit plugs right in to the Nissan brake controller.
It works well with a 5000 lb trailer I pull. I use a load distribution hitch and didn't realize at first that the '5' setting was using too much trailer brake. For my setup, 3.5 to 4 is perfect. It works well, and there's not a clunky controller box to bang your knees on. You'll like it!
The install was straight forward. Being my second time I was able to install the controller easily and without much complication. I have both a Nissa Pathfinder and Armada, which made the installation easier since both models are similar. The product responds well, still trying to dial in the perfect breaking level.
Install for 2014 Nissan Armada. I appreciate the online videos and customer support. Noah helped me with my order, which couldn't have gone any smoother. Ditto for the install. Looks and works flippin sweet!
Made installation of the Redarc brake controller easy and fast.

After using this unit for a year. I am still very satisfied. It works without me worrying about it. Yes, I would buy it again.
