Review of the Bolt Trailer Hitch Reveiver Lock

Today we're going to be taking a look at the BOLT Locks Receiver Hitch Pin Locks. These are designed to replace your standard hitch pin and clip and could be keyed right to your vehicle's ignition key. They're available in 2 styles. We've got an inch and a quarter here, it's going to be for your class 1 and class 2, and we've got our 2 or 2-1/2 inch pin here, which will work great for the class 3, 4, or 5. They use an automotive quality lock, uses a 6-plate tumbler to help prevent any picking, it's got a stainless steel shutter. If you can see there on the front.

That's going to keep dirt out of the cast zinc cylinder to give us a superior corrosion protection. The outside uses a hard rubber, easy grip casing that's going to protect the lock. It attaches to the pin using a double ball bearing system. The pin itself is stainless steel and rustproof. When the key is removed, it is going to lock automatically. They make it right here in the United States and they offer a limited lifetime warranty.

Now, it couldn't be easier to get our lock setup. When you get it, there's going to be a sticker over that and a small, black, you could see here, small, black rubber cover. Once you've got that pulled off, we'll just slide our key in, turn it, turn it back, and that's all it takes. Our lock is now coated to our ignition key. We're ready to use our bolt hitch pin lock. We'll just remove our standard hitch pin and clip.

With that out of the way, we'll take our pin, we'll slide that through, and simply press the lock on the other end. As you can see there, we're nice and secure. We're not going to have to worry about anybody removing our ball mount and taking our trailer. Now, when the job's done, we're going to remove the black cover that's there on the end, place our key in there if I can see it. There we go, now with the key in, we'll just turn in and pull to remove it. Very easy system and setup so we can run our entire vehicle and cargo management systems all in our vehicle's ignition key.

That will complete today's look at the BOLT Series of Locking Hitch Pins. .
