Question:
Greetings! I am new to the site and love what I see already. I am an artist and wont be needing to haul anything too heavy. My question is, if I buy item# C11430 trailer hitch what else do I need? A receiver and a ball joint, right? If so, what model #s are compatible with the above item #? Thank you!

For starters, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11430 is for a 2005-2010 Chevrolet Cobalt and the 2005-2006 Pontiac Pursuit. If you instead have a 1998 Honda CR-V which is what you entered into our fitguide then you will want to use the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 13314 instead. Even if you will not be towing anything heavy you will still want to use the largest trailer hitch available as that will give you the best performance and availability of accessories.
Regardless, in order to tow a trailer you will need to use a trailer hitch, wiring harness, ball mount, and hitch ball. I am still not sure which vehicle you will be towing with so I have attached my recommendations on what parts are needed for each.
2005-2010 Chevrolet Cobalt/Pontiac G5:
Trailer Curt Hitch Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11430
Wiring Harness- T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 118407 (coupe) or part # 118398 (sedan)
Ball Mount- Draw-Tite Drawbar part # 3594
Hitch Ball- Hitch Ball part # 19256 (1-7/8") or part # 19258 (2")
1998 Honda CR-V:
Trailer Hitch- Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 13314
Wiring Harness- Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness part # C55336
Ball Mount/ Hitch Ball/ Pin & Clip- Curt Class III Ball Mount part # C45036 (See Help Article)
I also recommend looking in the owner's manual for the vehicle you will be using so you know what the towing capacity is.
