Reliable Towing Capability: Class I 1-1/4" Hitch Receiver Rated for 2,000 lbs GTW

This Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver gives you a sturdy way to tow small trailers or mount accessories. With a 2,000 lb maximum gross trailer weight and 200 lb tongue weight rating, it’s built for light-duty work like hauling a small camper, boat, or cargo carrier. The square-tube design and precision, robotic welding maximize strength and durability so you can tow and carry gear with confidence.

Install It Yourself: Bolt-On Mount with No Welding Required

You don’t need special equipment to get this hitch on your vehicle. The custom-fit design uses factory mounting points for a straightforward bolt-on install. It comes with a complete hardware kit and step-by-step instructions so you can get it mounted in the driveway with basic tools—no cutting or welding needed.

Keep It Looking Good: Gloss Black Powder Coat Over Protective Base

The gloss black powder coat finish isn’t just for looks—it’s layered over a protective base coat that keeps rust and corrosion at bay. Whether you’re towing in wet weather or leaving the hitch on year-round, the finish holds up against the elements and road debris so your hitch stays looking clean.

I love having the hitch on my cobolt, works great, very useful.

The hitch install went well , some small unexpected adjustments , caused by the battery mounting in the spare tire compartment. Obviously not your fault . Hitch and wiring all work flawlessly !

The drill bits needed are always listed in the instructions for receiver hitches. For this hitch, a 1/2 inch drill bit is needed.

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2008 Chevy Cobalt Sedan
First place to check is the how many doors do you have? 2 doors equals coupe and 4 equals sedan. Do you see any badges at the rear of the vehicle on the trunk that say SS or Sport? If you can get back to me with that info I can see what you'd need.

  • Hitch Recommendation for a 2009 Chevy Cobalt Coupe
If your 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt is not an SS then you would want a Curt Trailer Hitch, part # C11430. I attached installation instructions as well as a link to a video of this hitch being installed on a similar vehicle as yours below. If your Cobalt is an SS then you could use a Draw-Tite Hitch, part # 24756, like you referenced. I attached installation instructions and a video of this hitch being installed on a vehicle that is similar to yours below also. You may also be interested in...

  • What Is The Maximum Towing Capacity For A 2009 Chevy Cobalt And Will The Curt Hitch, # 11430, Fit
I checked the maximum towing capacity for your 2009 Chevy Cobalt and it was 1,000 lbs. You might want to check your owners manual or with the Chevy dealer to verify that 1,000 lbs. is the correct maximum towing capacity of your 2009 Chevy Cobalt. The Curt Class I Trailer Hitch, # 11430, will fit on your 2009 Chevy Cobalt, as long as it is not a SS model. This hitch has a 2,000 lbs. towing weight capacity and a 200 lbs. tongue weight capacity. It is a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening. The ball...

  • Choosing the Correct Trailer Hitch and Accessories for a 2008 Chevy Cobalt LT1
For the 2008 model year, the Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 24756 fits the Sport, Sport Sedan, and SS Coupe models of the Chevy Cobalt. If you have a regular sedan or coupe model you would need the Curt hitch # C11430. The underside of each may look similar but the mounting locations and hitch design are different which is why there are different hitches for each. I have included links to the installation instructions for both hitches for you to view. If you require the first hitch, 24756,...

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring Recommendation for 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt
We offer light-duty 1-1/4-inch Class I hitches for the various versions of the 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt. The correct hitch for your particular car will depend on which version you drive. You can use the linked page to select your vehicle style. Use the drop-down menu tool at the top of the page to choose your particular Cobalt. For example, for the standard coupe (not the Sport or SS) or for the sedan (not the Sport) use Curt # C11430. For the Sport or SS coupe use # 24756 if you need an...

  • Weight of Curt Trailer Hitch part # C11430
The weight of the Curt hitch part # C11430 is 23 lbs. You should also note that hitches and ball mounts don't factor into the towing capacity of a vehicle. The hitch basically becomes part of the vehicle's frame so it's weight would be not be on the trailer side of the equation.

  • Compatibility of 2-Inch Cargo Carrier with 1-1/4-Inch Class I Trailer Hitch on 2010 Chevy Cobalt
Thank you for your hitch purchase from etrailer. Your 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt is equipped with 1-1/4-inch light-duty Class I hitch # C11430 and this has a 200-lb tongue weight (TW) capacity. You do not want to use an adapter for a 2-inch cargo carrier because that adapter will cut your hitch's capacity by 50-percent, which is 100-lbs. This means that if you used an adapter like # HTAD your combined cargo weight plus the weight of your cargo carrier itself could not exceed 100-lbs total....

  • How to Carry Four Bikes on 2008 Chevy Cobalt Sedan
If your Cobalt sedan is a Sport Model, I would recommend the Draw-Tite Class I receiver, part # 24756. For a non-Sport model, go with the Curt Class I, part # C11430. However due to the very limited weight capacity of the Class I receiver, both the hitch and bicycle rack manufacturers all agree that any bike rack used on a Class I receiver should not be used to carry any more than two bikes. Carrying additional bikes can place the weight of the bikes too far away from the hitch, causing...

  • Parts Needed to Tow Trailer with a 2008 Chevy Cobalt Sedan
These are great questions that I would be happy to help you with! First you would want to start with a trailer hitch for your 2008 Chevy Cobalt sedan. For that you would want the part # C11430. This is a confirmed fit for your vehicle, and it comes with a ball mount and a pin and clip. For hitch balls you would need either the part # 19258 for a 2 inch ball or # 19256 for a 1-7/8 inch ball. The trailer you plan to tow will be how you determine which ball you would need. If you contact...

For your 2009 Chevy Cobalt you will need either the Curt Class I Trailer Hitch # C11447 if you have the SS model or the Curt # C11430 if you do not. Both of the above Curt options for your Chevy Cobalt feature a 200 pound tongue weight capacity. This will work for your wheelchair carrier only if the combined weight of both the carrier itself and your wheelchair falls below this limit. The dimensions of the food cart are too big to fit on a cargo carrier. The hitch I recommended comes with pin and clip. You will still need a ball mount.
