License Plate Bracket Light Recommendation for a Hitch Cargo Carrier
Published 10/12/2015 >
Question:
Im looking at the rola led light kitfor the rola hitch carrier, basket type not hard tote type but want to add the license plate light. Is there a plug and play way to do this without splicing the wires, like in the video of the license plate light?it shows the hard tote type rola carrier already having an adapter for the license plate light I know you would need the adapter for the light itself but Im trying to not splice into the wires that are part of the 4pin connector. Thank you for your time

One license plate bracket with an LED light that may work for you is the Optronics LED Trailer License Plate Light with Mounting Bracket, # LPL55CB. At this time there are no license plate brackets with lights that are specifically designed to work with hitch mounted cargo carriers, but this bracket provides attachment points for a license plate.
You will just want to find a way to attach the bracket to the cargo carrier. In most cases, the bracket is screwed directly to the top rail on the cargo carrier. There are two wires coming from the license plate light. The white wire will splice into the white ground wire from the lights on the cargo carrier and the power wire will splice into the tail light wire from the cargo carrier lights.
I have attached a video of this light and bracket as well as a video on installing the cargo carrier lights for you to check out.
