Note: This adapter is designed to flat tow a vehicle only. Do not use to tow a trailer. When using with a hitch-mounted accessory, such as a bike rack or cargo carrier, the tongue weight of your hitch will be reduced by at least 50 percent.
Most tow systems require some sort of hitch accessory to either raise or lower the tow bar to an appropriate level. The "Safe Zone" for a motor-home-mounted tow bar ranges from 3" above level to 3" below. Car-mounted models must be absolutely level. This high-low adapter can provide you with the necessary drop or desired rise to achieve a level tow bar setup.

I use this product as a means of lowering my motorcycle rack on the rear of my Class A motor home, thereby making the bike somewhat easier to get off the rack.
So far I have no complaints or criticisms, the 8" hi-lo adaptor does precisely what I wanted it to do.

This has worked well. Seems well built\sturdy. I needed it to match the bumper height of my lifted Jeep tow bar to my truck hitch. My truck hitch with my camper on was too low. The Jeep came up over the towbar and rear ended my camper after braking for a dip. This hitch makes the truck hitch the same height as the Jeep tow bar connection
Just what I needed - Bought a gently used Blue-Ox tow-bar to pull a recently acquired 1998 Honda Honda CRV with my 2005 Jayco Grayhawk. After installing the CRV baseplate (purchased from etrailer, another great buy, installed myself in about 45 minutes) the vertical alignment of the base plate connections and the RV's receiver hitch was 9-inches off. I found this hitch adapter, it arrived within a few days of ordering even when I ordered it less than a week before Christmas. A test tow around the neighborhood proved all worked and aligned great. etrailer team followed up, provided info on shipping status, all-in-all an excellent transaction.

Be aware that the adapter has a 400 lb tongue weight capacity. This means that the dirt bike and the carriers combined weight cannot exceed 400 lbs.
Product was just as advertised and made my Class "C" RV hitch and 4WD towing setup exactly level. Hi/Low Extension was top quality. Very satisfied with the product and prompt delivery. I am a multiple time purchaser through "etrailer" and every experience has been top notch. Seller is highly recommended!! Do note that Hi/Low Extension extended overall tow setup an additional 10" and therefore also required the addition of safety cable extensions and a new longer wiring harness.
Needed in a hurry, but did not opt for higher priced shipping. Item was shipped same day, and arrived fast. Very satisfied. I had previously ordered a bike carrier and was pleased to return. Best prices and fasted shipping. Will continue to use for my RV needs.

Great. Adjusted tow height and works fine.
Just received the order - everything was perfect! Fast shipping and appears to be a great product. Fits perfectly and solves my towing height issue. Being used with Blue Ox products (much less expensive option, and rated for more weight).
Excellent value and customer service (called prior to my order, ordered via web, and received follow up).
Will definitely use them again should the need arise!

One year later and still very happy with my purchase as well as the service I had received. Great stuff!
Just used it this past weekend for first time. It worked great! No problems whatsoever. Drove three hours to the destination and three hours back. Definitely will continue to use. I needed a hitch that was leveled with my tow bars and this was perfect. I would highly recommend etrailer for their excellent products.

Still working great.
I use a 4" drop down for my mobility scooter carrier. My SUV hitch was too high to allow me to run the scooter up onto the carrier. The drop down made the carrier hight perfect. The drop down is strong and very stable. Noe I can travel and be moble at my destination.

The down is still meeting my needs and is serving very well.
The road master 048-8 drop/rise looked great and performed as expected. Service was excellent. I received the order earlier than I expected.
Just received the Roadmaster 8" High-Low Hitch Adapter today and the quality looks awesome and etrailer was awesome to deal with super fast shipping and good communications, and I'm sure this is going to work just fine when I get ready to use it thanks etrailer.

Have used this for a year now for my tow car and it works awesome and well built would highly recommend this to anyone needing one.
I use this to level up my my 4' extension to the front of my jeep tow vehicle behind our truck camper. It has worked well for us.
Turned it over and it raises my towbar on the motorhome so I may safely flat tow our Jeep
This was just what I needed on my RV to raise up the tow hitch to be level with the connections on my towed vehicle.
Although I just needed to shim it up to keep the wiggle down, its doing the trick with the bike rack. Still need to try it out with the camper when I head back out to work.
The only thing I have changed is to have an additional receiver welded on top to carry a bike rack. The drop was perfect to tow my 2016 Hyundai Elantra GT
Just what I needed to finish my project today!
The product solved my problem by lowering the attach height on my motorhome making it level with that on the vehicle being towed.

I feel that the design limit for the torque this attachment imparts on the motorhome trailer hitch exceeds the design limit of the motorhome hitch. A few hard stops seem to have bent the motorhome hitch a little. I am towing a 4k lb vehicle with a 2015 Winnebago Vista.

I bought this down hitch for my tow car when I upgraded to a Class A Motorhome. I can honestly say that after a year it is still working Awesome !

Hitch is very solid and works well.
Fits well, seems well constructed. Its heavier than i expected, very solid. Haven't used it yet, but it is on the camper and ready to go. We have a LOD bumper on the Bronco, that is designed for towing and the adapter gets the tow bar even with the Bronco's tow points. The round D-Ring holes are 27 inches off the ground.
Great adapter to level the tow kit out that I bought from E-Trailer! Shipped the same week and arrived at the house along with the rest of the order. Has held up to multiple tows of the Ford F150 behind the bus.

Be aware that using an extender like the # RM-048-8 will lower the tongue weight capacity of your hitch by 50 percent. Because the load has been moved further away from the receiver, more leverage is being applied to the hitch.
