Question:
Hello. This is short notice, but I need a hitch receiver and a cargo rack for my trip. My husband and I are not handy in the automotive area, though I can follow instructions and have put together a ton of furniture by myself. I have read that the center fascia on the 2003 Toyota Matrix XR needs removing, but I have no idea what that is. I saw the installation video for a 2009 Toyota Matrix. Would the installation be the same on my model?

If you use Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 24812 the center fascia (which is a fancy word for the lower plastic bumper part on your 2003 Toyota Matrix XR) will not have to be removed. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you. There is no mention of having to remove the center fascia.
The installation video for the 2009 model year is a different hitch design and it will not be exactly the same but pretty close.
For a ball mount use # 3593. For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256 and for a 2 inch ball use # 19258. For trailer wiring you can use # 118386.For a cargo carrier I recommend # C18110. It is compatible with Class I trailer hitches.
