Question:
I was just given a very old trailer snowmobile?. I need to replace a wheel hub. I have taken off the old hub but see no markings to indicated what bearing # is needed. How can I tell what hub I need? there are no manuf markings that I can find on the trailer either.

Replacement hubs (and bearings, races, seals, etc) for your "new" trailer can be selected easily by just confirming a few details from the trailer.
First you need to find the sticker or plate on the axle that indicates the axle weight capacity. Then you need to pull the old bearings, inner and outer, to find their part numbers to let you select correct replacement bearings, races, seals and the hubs that work with those parts. Last, you need to match the wheel bolt pattern to ensure your wheels will fit on the new hubs. I suggest you replace both hubs as otherwise you may soon find that the other one has a problem. This way you can be sure the trailer will be safe and sound and give you reliable service.
The part you referenced, # 8-91-05UC1-EZ, is an idler hub (no brakes) that fits 2000-lb axles, has a 4-on-4-inch bolt pattern and uses bearing # L44649 for both its inner and outer bearing. If these features match your existing set up and your wheels are between 8 and 12-inches in size this kit is just what you need.
If not you can use the linked articles and product page to help you choose a correct hub kit. Filters on the page allow you to sort the results for your axle capacity, bearings and bolt pattern.
We also offer bearing grease # L54FR, bearing packer # L70025 and the linked video illustrates how to install and repack your new bearings.
