Replacement Dexter Hub for 8-91A Hub
Updated 05/07/2026 | Published 07/09/2016 >
Question:
I have a boat trailer that has Dexter 8 - 91A hubs on it. The bearings are both L44649s and the grease seal has a 1.25 I.D with a 1.9 O.D. I do not see this combination on your site. Would it be possible to get this set up? Thank you for your time.

If the hub that was on your trailer axle previously had 8-91A stamped on the back of it your spindle should require inner and outer bearings of # L44649 like you used. The part # 8-91-05UC1 SHOULD be an exact replacement.
However we need to double check your grease seal measurement. Double check to make sure you don't have a 1.5 inner diameter seal with outer diameter of 1.9. You can also measure the spindle where the seal rides as well.
The seal dimensions you mentioned are not ones that are standard which means most likely you don't have them.

I have a guide wheel for John Deere power rake. The hubs are stamped Dexter 8-91A. The spindle goes completely through the bearings and the grease zero is drilled into the hub itself, since there is no end cap. I need the hub, bearings, seals, AND a rim that will fit a 16.5x6.5-8 tire.

I have a 1986 Starcraft Starlite 17 pop up that I am looking to replace the hub assemblies on. Dexter hub #8-91A. 4" bolt pattern, 1.500" & 1.062" diameter spindle, front & rear bearing # L 44549. Hub height 4.125", grease seal National 474476. Would this assembly be a direct replacement?
