E-Z Lube-Compatible Hub for Simple Lubrication

The grease cap on this hub is specially designed to work with your Dexter E-Z Lube axle to make lubricating bearings quick and easy. Just remove the plug on the grease cap, attach a grease gun to the zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and inject the grease. It will flow easily to both inner and outer bearings. Not only does this make lubricating the bearings easy, but it also helps to prevent corrosion of the hub. This is because you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Need to put cotter pins in the kit

by:

Brand new to camping, a little nervous for a first time long trip. Found the hub assembly at a very good price and bought it for just-in-case. A very good take along investment and takes almost no space. Quality and completeness just like the original.

Still havent needed my insurance it is money well spent

Upgraded my axle on 1973 Elgin trailer. The old axle used 2.75 shorty hubs that are hard to locate bearings and seals for. Once i installed the new axle, the Hubs from Etrailer fit like a glove right out of the box. No frustration and no worries. Something that could be said of the old set up. Time to go Fishing.

by:

great price, great product delivered fast. I could not find these parts in my area in stock anywhere. parts places here were happy to order the parts for me at 3X the cost of etrailer

I am happy to tell you I have not needed to use the hub. I purchased it as a spare for a camping trailer I own. I keep the hub in the trailer in case I have a problem on a trip. It is good quality, I hope to not need it, but I am happy I have it.

by:

Excellent product. Perfect fit and the rubber grommets
Make for easy greasing! Would recommend and buy from E trailer again.

by:

The hub assembly worked out great, the fast delivery saved my vacation at that time! The bearing kit I have not used yet, I purchased as a spare.. Not sure what else you offer. forward your web site info..

by:

The replacement bearings from Pep Boys cost as much as the new hub kit from E Trailer! Now my old boat trailer is as reliable as a new trailer. No worries towing my boat to Vermont from NJ. Great product, Thanks !!!

by:

The quality is excellent and the order was processed the same day and shipped. (Sweet!) Installed a grease zerk fitting to the hubs to take advantage of the EZ lube function.

by:

I ordered hub and bearing parts for my trailer not knowing what I was doing. They got everything by my description. I ran into a problem getting the old parts off so it's not yet complete. Etrailer did it again and i got it fast. Thank you Etrailer for the great service.

by:

This is my second hub(for the other side) first side is still going strong after a couple years.

by:

What a great experience. I wish all my online purchases went this well. You sure know how to do customer service right. Easy website, great fit, great price & rush shipping at no extra charge. I don't know how it could have been any easier. I'll definitely be back!

I couldnt be happier. The trailer is not something you should have to worry about...it should just follow the van down the road. With the replacement of the hubs, it does so without giving it a second thought. Peace of mind is a wonderful thing!

by:

Nice new hubs for my boat trailer. My only concern is using boxing tape instead of Saran wrap to hold everything together with the hubs. I had to clean the adhesive off the hubs before I could paint them. Other than that, excellent!

by:

I was completely impressed with all the customer service I received. I don't recall ever having the hard work you folks did. I will make future orders with you..But one thing..the caps that go on the hub we're a nightmare...not sure what the deal was but I finally got them on. But more important..thank you very much for customer service.

by:

Great service, your authorized partner Sumter Tire and auto in wildwood Florida did a great job installing everything. Couldn’t be happier

by:

A 1.063 straight spindle is compatible with an L44649 bearing. I'd recommend the Dexter # 8-91-05UC1-EZ hub as a replacement. The hub has a 4 on 4 bolt pattern and is compatible with the L44649 inner and outer bearing. Since your current hubs use lug bolts, it's considered hub-centric, which means that the lugs merely hold the wheel onto the hub, but the portion of the hub that extends through the pilot diameter of the wheel provides much of the load support to carry the weight of the...

  • Trailer Hub Compatible with Caliper Measurement for Camping Trailer Axle
Based on your photo it does appear you have the BTR spindle that takes the 1.063 inch inner bearings. The fact that it isn't a digital caliper with the precision of that thousandth does leave slight ambiguity but I am still confident you will want the Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # 8-91-05UC1. You will not need the # 8-91-05UC1-EZ you asked about because you don't have the grease zerk in your spindles. To confirm fit, I recommend putting your caliper on the grease seal location...
