Used these to tow aluminum body F150. Magnets strong enough to securely attach below rear bumper which is about the only steel part available. Super easy to set up and they work perfectly

Still working great!

by:
Roadmaster

I'm using this with a Roadmaster towbar. I'm marking this down a bit because the sending unit uses a 4 Pole flat connector while the available plug on the towbar is a 6 pole round connector commonly used on horse trailers. I had to serve a long time to find anything that would allow me to connect these together without hacking off the connectors and hard wiring them. I ended up with a 7 pole to 6 pole/4 Pole splitter. It will do the job but it's definitely a kluge. It would have been nice if this were offered will connector options. When ordering this equipment I asked the eTrailer customer service rep for an adapter and she kinda skated past that. I figured I could figure it out when I had everything in my hands but it was much harder than I expected.

Magnetic lights seem to work very good but I have only set them up and tried them in the yard.. we are hoping they stand up well while on the road during our next trip !! Easy to set up and use.. we will bring a pocket full of AA batteries along with us as we dont know how long the battery life will be..

by:

Everything arrived on time and in perfect condition. These items are exactly what I needed to complete the towing packed for my rv.

This has worked flawlessly on my Jeep Cherokee that I tow behind my motorhome. Much easier that having to worry about running wires under my vehicle.

After a year of use it still works great. I have discovered that rechargeable lithium batteries last the longest. Still happy with my purchase.

by:

It was just what I wanted. Works great and very reasonably priced. More importantly was the great customer service.

by:

Ordered these because my car towing wiring had a problem and didn't have time to get it fixed. First set arrived but had a manufacturing defect and right hand light didn't work (not etrailer's fault!). Called etrailer and they were very accommodating in sending out a second set which arrived in time. The second set worked perfectly. Good service and extensive follow up by etrailer shows they care. I'll use them for other purchases any time!

Still works great. Save us on a trip when the car to RV connection went [bad].

by:

The main reason for the five stars, is I did have a problem with a piece of one of the products and when I called, there was very little questions asked they just handled the problem which I really appreciated. I would for sure do business here again!

by:

Wow This is fabulous . Put battery in, plug in, ready to go!!

by:

No big deal, install batteries and put on toad !

Should have done this years ago before they cut into my tail light wiring and also had to deal with rusted out 4 prong plug in over the years.

Lincoln MKZ

These things are the best thing since sliced bread!
We have a Lincoln MKZ that already has a hitch on the rear for towing a small enclosed trailer. The thought of having to "hard" wire in a wiring harness for towing behind the motorhome that would still allow the trailer to be towed was not a task I was looking forward to. etrailer suggested these as an alternative. Literally plug and play. Just plug the transmitter into the motorhome, install batteries and attach the magnetic based lights to the trunk of the MKZ and presto! DONE! I hooked the car up behind the motorhome and ran it down the freeway at 60-65 mph and all was good. Worked straight out of the box! Fantastic product!

by:
Saturn Ion

These work well, bright. They do eat up regular Duracell batteries. After first use of these I switched to Lithium Ion. The lights were noticeably brighter in the daylight sun. The life of the batteries has drastically improved service. I have a habit of removing the batteries when not in use to enable greater duration; they do have an on/off switch built in, but it's so simple to remove them in case of phantom degradation. Over-all, I am very happy with these and installation on the car is a snap. Love them so far. Would buy/recommend to others.

by:
2011 Ford Taurus

Was absolutely 100% delighted with this product. Drove a total of 2600 miles in all kinds of weather and traffic conditions and these lights worked perfectly. Batteries lasted all most to the end of the trip. I'd recommend this set up to everyone who cannot afford to have wiring redone on a vintage trailer.

I bought the wireless Hopkins tow lights to temporarily tow my new Jeep behind our Motorhome until I could wire the taillights permanently. I liked them so well that I have never wired the Jeep and only use the wireless taillights.

They work great on my Class C pulling my Honda CRV.

by:

I just received them and tested them out and they work great. They are very bright and responsive. I look forward to using them in the future when I tow my vehicle behind my RV.

by:

Worked perfectly

by:

These have been a lifesaver for our camper lights not working properly. Never had an issue with these

by:

very easy to see and use. I hope I never have to rewire another old trailer. Love them.

by:

Great looking lights, LED wireless hook up makes this an easy installation and easy choice.

by:

Product appears to work as represented. Have not had it on the road yet.

Lights work great, and battery life is better than expected. Only issue is potential for paint damage... I recommend that the manufacturer consider a softer landing pad to reduce potential for paint scratches.

  • Troubleshooting Malfunctioning Hopkins Wireless Magnetic Tow Lights
Hey George, If you're not getting the correct signals to come across to the lights for the Hopkins Magnetic Tow Lights # C6304 you're either facing a signal issue or the batteries in the lights are low, causing them to malfunction. I would check the batteries first since this is the easiest troubleshooting step. As for the signal issue, where exactly are you placing the transmitter? Do the motorhomes where you have issues with it have something in the way that could be causing interference?...

  • Will Optronics LED Magnetic Tow Lights Protect Against Scratching 2018 Ford Fiesta SE Paint?
The Optronics Magnetic LED Tow Light Kit - Weatherproof - Red Lens - 20' Wiring Harness - Qty 2 # TLL21RK has a protective label pad on the bottom to keep from scratching paint. You can see this at the 2 minute mark of the attached review video. I do recommend wiping down the vehicle with a microfiber cloth before putting the lights on simply to remove any dust or debris that could be abrasive between the scratch free label and the paint for added security.

  • Troubleshooting Hopkins Wireless Magnetic Tow Lights C6304
Based on your troubleshooting efforts and the fact that this product did not operate properly on both of your vehicles I am inclined to think the unit has a defect. But you can easily test it, independent of the vehicles, to isolate the location of the issue. Use a 12V vehicle or spare battery to apply power directly to the wireless transmitter portion of the Hopkins Wireless Magnetic Tow Lights # C6304. Connect the battery ground to the pin for the white wire and then apply the battery...

  • Why Won't My Hopkins Wireless Taillights Work When Plugged into My 2025 Lincoln Nautilus?
Hello Bob, Since you've confirmed that the Universal Magnetic Tow Lights with Wireless Transmitter and 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector - Red LEDs # C6304 work fine with another vehicle, the issue is most likely with the trailer wiring on your Lincoln Nautilus. Did your Nautilus come with the factory tow package? If so, I recommend checking the vehicle’s fuse panel to see if a trailer lighting fuse is missing or blown. • Why Will the Hopkins Magnetic Tow Lights not Work on a Couple of my Trucks
There should be no issues going from manufacturer to manufacturer with the Hopkins Magnetic Tow Lights with 4-Way Flat Connector part # C6304. There can be a few exceptions however. On some Fords there was an issue where the towing package or mode had to be on for the wiring adapter to receive signals from the wireless transmitter. There are some vehicles that do not recognize the light or efficient draw we get from LED lights. This high efficiency can sometimes "fool" certain vehicle's...

  • What is the Battery Life for Hopkins Wireless Magnetic Tow Lights
The battery life for Hopkins wireless magnetic tow lights, # C6304, is going to depend on several factors including the charge level of the batteries used, quality of the batteries, ambient temperature, and of course how long the lights are turned on.
