Lets Go Aero Trailer Hitch Lock - 63232

  • Fits 2 Inch Hitch
  • Universal Anti-Rattle Lock
  • Keyed Unique
  • 3-1/2 Inch Span
  • Lets Go Aero
  • Spring-Loaded Pin

This anti-rattle hitch pin dramatically reduces any movement or vibration of your ball mount in your hitch. Included lock ensures security for your hitch accessory. Designed for use on hollow-shank ball mounts and accessories. 5/8" Pin diameter.

Features:

  • Trailer hitch receiver lock is used in place of standard pin and clip to prevent theft of ball mount or hitch-mounted accessory
    • Secure your bike rack, cargo carrier, hitch cover, and more to your trailer hitch
  • Anti-rattle pin reduces play and vibration in the hitch connection
    • Place block with spring inside shank of ball mount or hitch accessory
    • Slide ball mount or accessory into hitch receiver
    • Insert pin through hitch pin hole and anti-rattle block with spring
    • Twist pin with wrench (sold separately) so ball mount or accessory is pulled tight against side of hitch receiver wall
  • 90 Degree, barrel-style lock comes with 2 round, rubber-coated keys
    • Weather-resistant rubber dust cap keeps cylinder free of debris
  • Zinc finish is corrosion resistant
  • Sturdy steel construction

Specs:

  • Application: 2" x 2" trailer hitch receivers
    • Ball mount or hitch accessory must have a hollow shank
  • Pin diameter: 5/8"
  • Inside pin length (span): 3-1/2"
  • Overall length: 5-1/2"
  • 30-Day warranty

Notes:

  • This lock is not rated for use for flat towing.
  • This lock will not work with some factory 2" trailer hitches that have an outside width wider than 3-1/2". If a longer pin length is needed, see hitch lock SHP2040-XL
  • This device can only be used with hollow-shank ball mounts and hitch accessories.

The Silent Hitch Pin from Let's Go Aero takes the rattle and play out of the connection between your trailer hitch and your ball mount or hitch accessory. The unique design features a sturdy steel block with an attached spring that sits inside the shank of your hitch-mounted accessory.

Silent Hitch Pin DiagramSilent Hitch Pin Close Up

Place the block inside your ball mount or hitch accessory, and line up the hole in the block with the pin hole in your ball mount. Slide your ball mount into your hitch and insert the hitch pin. To activate the anti-rattle device, just twist the pin with a wrench (sold separately) to tighten it down. Doing this will pull the accessory up against the wall of your hitch receiver, thus keeping the accessory from moving around inside your hitch. No more annoying clanking or vibrating.

The 90 degree, barrel-style lock goes on the end of the anti-rattle pin to provide security for your hitch-mounted accessories. Two round, rubber-coated keys are included with the lock. A sturdy rubber dust cap comes attached to the barrel lock so that you can easily cover the lock cylinder, thus ensuring that no dirt or grime will get in to damage the lock.

Clearance around the Tesla Model Y hitch receiver is tight but this anti-rattle hitch lock fit perfectly, even after torquing it to spec. The lock mechanism on the left comes very close to the 7-pin connector but it doesn’t touch and the lock rotates freely around the pin. Product appears to be of high quality.

The product continues to work well. This is more of a Tesla issue but it is difficult to attach the left safety chain with the lock in place. Considering adding a d-ring or something similar to the attachment point on the Tesla to make it easier to get the chain on and off but overall still happy with the hitch lock.

by:

I’m kind of disappointed in the experience at the moment. When I first inquired about a drop hitch adapter, I stated that I needed literally 1/8-1/4” drop, in order to allow my rear doors to open. I was informed that Curt has a product with a range from 2”-6” drop. In my mind the 2” would be the one I’d order. Turns out I should have double checked the order. I was mistakenly sent the 4” drop receiver, and there’s apparently no way etrailer can overnight the correct (2” drop receiver) to me before I leave this Sunday on a trip. If I use the 4” drop until the 2” arrival, I won’t be able to return the 4”. The etrailer people are very pleasant to talk to but problem solving is very disappointing.

Product works fine. Etrailer staff failed at solving order issue created by representative not describing more accurately what I was ordering. After receiving the hitch and discovering that a lesser hitch was available, but I was not able to exchange for, I was very disappointed in how the issue was handled.

Still working great and I would highly recommend this trailer hitch lock….

by:

This does a good job of keeping the rattles down and the lock is nice too. Easy to use. But note that it bends easily. A guy at UHaul couldn’t figure out how to get it off of the hitch so he hit it with a rubber mallet and bent the tip where the lock attaches. It still locks though.

by:

Heard about this pin and had to give it a try. Very happy I did! The quietest towing I have ever experienced. You can actually tow an empty trailer without the hitch banging around over every bump!

Product is still working great! Just tighten the hitch lug and get ready for a quiet towing experience.

Exactly what I was looking for. I have a hitch extension for my Wrangler but it rattled once I put it on with my bike racks. This anti rattle lock works great, extension doesn’t move anymore. Easy to install and ready to go in minutes.

by:

This anti rattle hitch lock is a must purchase. It really holds everything in place and locks it unlike a traditional lock pin that usually has a lot more play in it. Well worth the expense

by:

I received my kit and installed it immediately. I am really impressed. Every time I pulled my boat or utility trailer it sounded as my hitch was about to become apart. Now it’s silent and feels solid , great piece of kit and would recommend to anyone.

by:

SHIPPING PACKAGE Was busted open on the end and hitch was sticking out, other than that everything was easy to install, exactly as video instructed.
Thanks

by:

This does work. Incredibly rugged but quiet and no tongue rattle. I gave 4 stars because the round tubed washer is rusting. Other than that it is a great product.

Like the fact this is all metal, just wish it was stainless steel. Does the job well, time will tell for how long! I used a spray grease type coating on everything in an attempt to delay corrosion.

by:

I have ordered and used this device before. What is disgraceful is the respect shown toward products shipped from etrailer. While the two devices/parts I ordered probably could have through a war zone without any damage, the fact is IF they are beaten out of the box while in shipping is not right. Add some appropriate packing. Grade F on your packaging.

Work8ng perfectly

by:

I purchased this for use on my 2017 VW Alltrack with an Ecohitch 2 in receiver. I have a Thule T2 Classic bike rack with a 1-1/4 inch shank and didn't want to purchase the replacement shank. I instead purchased # HT02 to allow the receiver to accept the smaller 1-1/4 and # 63232 to stabilize the rack and stop the rattle.

The combination is perfect. # 63232 acts as both an anti-rattle device, as well as a hitch lock. Installation took 5 minutes and was super straightforward. Because the pin is threaded, be sure to use a torque wrench to not accidentally over-torque the pin and strip the threads or just tighten until the rattle stops.

A year in and the the Lets Go Aero Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock still does its job. The only issue that Ive run into is that I am unable to remove it from my hitch. The tubular metal sleeve that fits around the lock pin seems to have rusted itself locked. I havent been able to remove it and cannot remove my hitch rack as a result.

If your hitch is open at the back using some WD-40 and spraying down the hitch lock and anti-rattle device as best as you can, and let it sit and try again to remove the pin. You may need to use a hammer and persuade the pin, but try not to damage the bolt head portion. If the hammer does not work you might try using an impact wrench and a socket, or a socket and a cheater bar to try to get the treads to spin free. Worst case scenario you may need to use a cut off wheel and cut down the hitch pin and then using a drill bit drill out either side to see and try to remove the stinger. Just make sure that you do not use a drill bit larger than a 5/8 inch (diameter of your hitch pin) or any kind of torch that would damage your hitch.

by:

The square nut will slide inside the receiver bar of whatever item you’re trying to hook up losing its alignment with the hole. For some odd reason (I’ve checked the orientation of the nut, and it’s correct), it frequently will not properly engage the threads. It takes a lot of turns to tighten down normally so it’s difficult to tell whether it’s engaged or not. Frequently I would think I was tightening it only to find that the threads weren’t engaged. Lastly, it became jammed on and wouldn’t unscrew. It took a soak of PB Blaster and a rubber mallet to loosen. Oddly, one of the threads in the middle of the bolt is damaged. I’ve only used (screwed/unscrewed) this about 20 times. It’s never been submerged (it’s used for a receiver hitch beach cart). Overall, I think the thread and nut quality are of below-average quality which accounts for its finicky nature, difficulty engaging and occasional difficulty removing. I plan on replacing it with another product.

by:

Severe design flaw.
The lock works fine,
it installs easily, and it prevents rattling....but after almost a year I tried to remove this to switch to a different hitch. This turned into a 4-hour project. I had to cut the pin into pieces and drill it out of my truck to remove it.
Once the spring block is inside the hitch tube, this installs in three pieces: the main bolt, a sleeve, and the lock. The problem is that a small amount of corrosion between the bolt and the sleeve locked them together because they are a tight fit to begin with. Impact wrench, sledge hammer....nothing could separate these parts. You can see in my photo with the bolt cut apart how the sleeve and bolt have fused together.
I'm extremely unhappy I spent $40 on this, but thankfully it was just a wasted day in the driveway. This could be a real problem for someone using their truck for work or something important when they find out they need to spend hours on their hands and knees turning this one piece of garbage into 10,000 pieces of garbage to get it out.

by:

There wasn’t enough room on my Curt hitch to use this quite pin to secure my RoadMaster spare tire carrier. I used the bolt pin that came with the carrier and will install a separate lock on it.
However this silent pin will do nicely on the cargo carrier I will install on the RoadMaster spare tire carrier hitch.

Great product and company. This trailer hitch receiver lock does what it’s supposed to do and I appreciate the follow-up from the company to check that all is well.

by:

Well made and robust. Am testing it now with a hitch receiver extension and a bike rack. But it appears to be able to do the job.

by:

The good: Does a good job of eliminating rattle; probably 90% or more effective for me. I liked it enough that I just bought another to replace one because...

The bad: I left this on the hitch for about a year and the lock seized up. I broke the lock off (not hard to do; don't fool yourself that this will stop someone from stealing your trailer) but then found that the slide-on sleeve that goes between the lock and the threaded block had rusted solid onto the pin, so that the pin would not screw out. I had to cut the head off at the threads using an angle grinder and then screw it out backwards to the lock end.

My new unit will come off the vehicle and go into dry storage whenever its not in use.

by:

I received the hitch lock quickly and it has works great. It tightens nicely so there is no rattle with my bike rack. As always, research on e-trailer site was helpful and nice to know your service folks are available for any questions that come up.

by:

Great products and even better customer service. etrailer is my go-to place for anything my trailers require.

Had a small issue with shipping and the etrailer team jumped on it with an extremely quick resolution, even when it was an issue out of their control.

Great team to work with.

by:

This product removed all of the play along the X axis, so the cargo rack no longer moves left and right. There is still a little movement on the Y axis, up and down, but it is half what it was before. Plus that has more to do with the physics of my cargo basket than the locking device. This pin can't take all of the slop out on both the X and Y axis. I just made aa wood shim from treated lumber, drove it into the recover, and now with a shim in there it doesn't move in either direction. Highly recommend this hitch lock. This would be easier to install on a tow hitch than it was on my cargo basket because the basket itself blocked my access when I had to tighten it with a ratchet, but had I jacked the car up and set the rear end on jack stands that wouldn't have come into play as I would have been able to lay underneath it. This basket is only 5-6 inches off the ground, and I am well more than 5-6 inches wide.

by:

This lock stopped my motorcycle from being stole in La Paz Mexico during Carnival last February. They couldnt figure out that it had to be unbolted.

by:

Shipping was fast and packaged good with no scratches.
I modified my 2010 Tundra skid pan for oil filter changes before mounting.
Replaced all 4 OEM tow ring bolts using anti-seize with new longer M12-1.25 X 40MM class 10.9 zinc finished hex cap screws along with new M12 X 24MM OD HARD WASHERS and torqued all 4 to 79 ft/lbs. Mounted new Thule EasyFold XT 2 Hitch Bike Rack and it fits in front without using the hitch extension.
All went together as planned and can now take E-Bikes with us while pulling our camper. We are happy campers!
