Notes:
The Silent Hitch Pin from Let's Go Aero takes the rattle and play out of the connection between your trailer hitch and your ball mount or hitch accessory. The unique design features a sturdy steel block with an attached spring that sits inside the shank of your hitch-mounted accessory.
Place the block inside your ball mount or hitch accessory, and line up the hole in the block with the pin hole in your ball mount. Slide your ball mount into your hitch and insert the hitch pin. To activate the anti-rattle device, just twist the pin with a wrench (sold separately) to tighten it down. Doing this will pull the accessory up against the wall of your hitch receiver, thus keeping the accessory from moving around inside your hitch. No more annoying clanking or vibrating.
The 90 degree, barrel-style lock goes on the end of the anti-rattle pin to provide security for your hitch-mounted accessories. Two round, rubber-coated keys are included with the lock. A sturdy rubber dust cap comes attached to the barrel lock so that you can easily cover the lock cylinder, thus ensuring that no dirt or grime will get in to damage the lock.

I used the bolt pin that came with the carrier and will install a separate lock on it. However this silent pin will do nicely on the cargo carrier I will install on the RoadMaster spare tire carrier hitch. 718274
This product was hard to fit into my curt hitch/curt carrier. However, once it was in, it worked like a charm. It fits so tight that it really wouldn't matter if it was a locking hitch or not. (poor attempt at a joke) I didn't have any rattling or fear that my carrier was going to be stolen. If anything, just having it gave me a peace of mind. It was incredibly easy to install. Just slip the part with the spring into whatever your mounting, slide it into the hitch, and slip the remaining parts in, screw, lock, done. Simple. The not-so-simple was attempting to put the remaining parts in with how tight a fit it was, had to loosen it a bit, then place them in. Not a big deal, and certainly not a reason to not purchase it. 218874
This seems like a very well made and sturdy product. I had no problems putting it on the first time. Very pleased. 553518
I bought this to lock up a hitch extension to a hitch extension that I didn't want to be stolen. Many thanks to eTrailer for helping me out on this. I had originally ordered a hitch lock that was not compatible with my setup. Customer Service emailed me before shipping the order, and I was able to change the order before buying the wrong item. The lock comes with two keys, and the anti-rattle mechanism works well. After installation, there is NO side to side movement between the extension and the hitch. I did notice a slight amount of up and down movement, but I installed a quiet hitch in conjunction with this item, which eliminated all movement entirely. It's a solid device for the money. I did not give it top marks, because of the slight up and down movement. Don't let that stop you, though. I'm just really picky. 10533
this little anti rattle trailer hitch receiver lock arrived one day earlier than scheduled so easy to install and better yet it does what they say it would do, stiffen up the hitch and no more rattle 562206
Works great, sometime it gets jammed up during alignment and I am never quite sure how tight to screw the thing in. I prefer to use a socket wrench over the included one. Make sure to remember the order of assembling the components. The product image on the far left is actually broken down into 3 separate sub-components. 1) shaft 2) block 3) end lock cap. The block sits in the channel of whatever is being plugged into the hitch. When you insert the shaft through the holes it must be done so from the opposite side you place the block. In effect you point the spring toward the lock cap. I don't hear a rattle as we drive unless we are rolling over rough terrain, then again I drive a minivan so I don't seek out rough terrain to test noise levels. :) I would like to give a 6th star to the service rep who put me in contact with the manufacturer. I (or someone in my party) lost a key on a trip so I wanted to get another one without purchasing a new set. (FYI the replacement keys are only slightly less expensive than the unit, so be careful not to lose one) That was an above and beyond customer scenario and I appreciated the quick support!!! 399725
UPDATE : Originally posted that it was to short and could not get the lock on . I called and Ricky advised to remove the split washer to see if that would allow the lock to fit . When I tried to remove the pin , the threads must have stripped and the pin would not move . After splitting a 5/8 socket and cracking a 16 inch cheater socket bar , the shaft broke in the nut ( which is inside the receiver ) . It is spring loaded , so my wife pushed on the nut & spring from one side , protruding the shaft out the other side and I was able to cut through the shaft . This took more than 2 hours to accomplish . Unable to get in contact with Ricky again , I called the general customer service # , advised them of all of this and they are sending me return label . Upon ordering this item , I called and ask about some reviewers who had had similar problems = They advised the company had changed from coarse threads to fine threads and it was no longer a problem . They advised they were sorry this happened , but now I also need to replace a 5/8 socket and 16 inch socket bar... I do not recommend this locking anti tilt hitch pin 210038
Thanks for your question. We have coordinated with Lets Go Aero and they have updated the design and replaced our stock of this hitch lock in the beginning of August 2015.
--Bought one of these and it broke. Going to try another. etrailer.com has excellent service and was able to get a replacement. 173465
I ordered for all the right reasons. Quality, ease of ordering, etrailer presence on social media, free shipping, expedient receipt of products. In “my” haste, one of the features of my B&W trailer hitch does not work on my vehicle. My Chevy Suburban has a rear valance that wii not allow me to rotate the ball hitch underneath the vehicle. I’m very impressed with the Areo silent hitch pin. 620129
Installed the nut and finger treaded the bolt into the assembly and nut. Once finger tight used the wench to tighten it all up. Upon removal I was unable to loosen the bolt with the wench. Working the bolt with a socket wrench I was able to get the bolt out but treads on both the bolt and the nut are damaged. I'm amazed that this big bolt and nut could be stripped so easily. 177408
The product accomplished exactly what I wished it would: it securely locks the adapter to the hitch, while reducing the sway. I used this product to secure and to lock a 1.25" Thule 4-bike rack and adapter to a 2 inch hitch. [there is no 1.25" hitch for my vehicle, so I had to get a 2" hitch and adapter]. The etrailer representatives were extremely knowledgeable and helpful in guiding me to purchase the exact product to serve my needs. Great service, fast delivery, low prices, quality products. This company is top notch all around. 437698
etrailer.com shipping sucks. Every single package that I have received from etrailer.com has arrived at my house with boxes stuffed inside more boxes that do not fit properly and cause the boxes to get smooshed together. It's a miracle that the product inside the boxes were not damaged. Boxes arrive at the house with parts of the cardboard missing or peeled off or flaps ripped open or looking like an accordion. As for the product, having survived its perilous journey, it works as designed. Stops vibration, thus stopping noise. I should probably sound more thrilled, but I have never had a hitch accessory rattle on me thus I don't have a before and after comparison. I was fortunate to have found this item before installing any hitch accessories on my vehicle. Final verdict...you won't be disappointed. The wrench that comes with it is worthless. Don't bother with the included wrench. Install it using a ratchet with appropriate socket. Keep the wrench in the vehicle for emergencies. Buy it and enjoy! 170430
I purchased this for use on my 2017 VW Alltrack with an Ecohitch 2 in receiver. I have a Thule T2 Classic bike rack with a 1-1/4 inch shank and didn't want to purchase the replacement shank. I instead purchased # HT02 to allow the receiver to accept the smaller 1-1/4 and # 63232 to stabilize the rack and stop the rattle. The combination is perfect. # 63232 acts as both an anti-rattle device, as well as a hitch lock. Installation took 5 minutes and was super straightforward. Because the pin is threaded, be sure to use a torque wrench to not accidentally over-torque the pin and strip the threads or just tighten until the rattle stops. 435250
If your hitch is open at the back using some WD-40 and spraying down the hitch lock and anti-rattle device as best as you can, and let it sit and try again to remove the pin. You may need to use a hammer and persuade the pin, but try not to damage the bolt head portion. If the hammer does not work you might try using an impact wrench and a socket, or a socket and a cheater bar to try to get the treads to spin free. Worst case scenario you may need to use a cut off wheel and cut down the hitch pin and then using a drill bit drill out either side to see and try to remove the stinger. Just make sure that you do not use a drill bit larger than a 5/8 inch (diameter of your hitch pin) or any kind of torch that would damage your hitch.
--I selected the 24x60 Curt Cargo Carrier (#C18153) to assist with moving students in/out of college dorms. The carrier was very easy to assemble and attach to the vehicle. I chose the anti-rattle trailer hitch receiver lock (#63232) to ensure noise was minimized when on the road - works great! I also added a cargo carrier LED light kit with mounting brackets (#98174LED, #BK70BB) and a Hopkins heavy-duty 7-way to 4-wire coiled adapter (#HM47065). As others have commented, the light kit wiring harness is not long enough to reach the vehicle plug. The coiled adapter provided a great solution. Using the eTrailer web site has taken the mystery out of finding cargo moving solutions. 372290
Good quality and exactly what I need. 943200
Never used it due to 2020 covid-19. I bought this item to replace the exact same item I bought from you 3/4 years ago. I had the old Receiver Lock attached in the receiver holding my folding Hitch Carrier for about 4 months continuously, during the spring and summer of 2019. When I went to remove the Receiver Lock' to remove the Folding Hitch Carrier, the Receiver Lock pin was frozen to the square nut. After two weeks of spraying it with Liquid Wrench, I gave up and put as much leverage as I could with a breaker bar, the hex head on the Receiver Lock pin broke off, leaving every thing still attached. After removing the spare tire from the rear underside of my Suburban, I was able to gain access to the in board open end of the Suburban's trailer hitch. There was just enough room to get a metal blade, attached to a Makita Cordless Reciprocating Saw, to cut the pin out. I had the Receiver Lock 6/7 times before and never had any trouble. Though those 6/7 times, the longest continuous use was 2 weeks max. I plan to use anti-seize compound next time. 942306
I bought this to keep a cargo rack from rattling when installed in the receiver on the back of my travel trailer. I've towed it all more than 5,000 miles since then without rattles or vibrations that I'm aware of. The rack carries my generator, a 5-gallon gas can, and a 5-gallon diesel can. I check it every morning while traveling and it hasn't loosened up a bit. 941713
Great customer service! Will definitely recommend to others! 941588
Works great and also really stabilize my winch 941125
I use it on my 112 foot utility trailer and it works great . I did have to get the right length so it would fit thru the receiver fOr a 2 ' BALL 940731
Now I have a spare tire with me for my Trek motor home that it never had before. Thanks to the Road Master hitch mounted spare tire carrier I can do much more. At 70 plus I can install and remove the tire and wheel from the carrier. I will soon be flat towing my Jeep Wrangler with the hitch receiver built into this carrier. It’s well built and heavy duty enough to attach 2 E-bikes on a tilting double bike rack. When I start towing the Jeep the bike rack and E-Bikes will go on the rear of the Jeep. Take all my toys with me. Thanks etrailer and Road Master for the quality product. 935586
This anti-rattle hitch lock does both tasks very well. I was puzzled earlier about how it worked. Had I realized the genius of its design, I would have saved money on purchases that failed to do what I needed. 934459
Hitch lock arrived a day early; Score 1 for etrailer.com! Looked exactly as pictured online; Score 1 more for etrailer.com! Installed quickly and easily as instructions indicated; etrailer.com scores again! It works as advertised, snugging up the trailer ball so there is absolutely no rattle there! And the rubber covered lock and keys make it about as close to theft proof as you can get, so etrailer.com gets a 4th star! The lock itself, of course, is not exactly rattle free, and I don't know how it could be and still be accessible to remove. Plus there is still going to be some noise from the safety chains of the trailer, but that has nothing to do with the anti-rattle lock, so I'm going the whole 5 stars! Well made, and as secure and quiet as can be done! Love it! 934015
Nice concept but I have had it loosen during travel. Not a huge deal but now you don't have a anti-rattle lock. 924557
I like this receiver lock quite a bit. It's much, much quieter than a standard pin, or locking pin. This is a replacement for the same lock that was damaged by the hooks from a rental trailer. Minus one star for the company not offering replacement parts. 923311
