Measure first to match your RV steps to your door frame width and entry height; entry height is from the top of the doorway threshold to the ground. An 8 inch or 9 inch rise refers to the distance between steps, so pick what feels right for your stride. Installs can be simple, and when space is tight, removing a decorative roll plate or carefully trimming a threshold lip or a bit of the screen door can create the clearance needed for the door to close.
Sometimes, yes. Lift-assist strut compatibility depends on the exact step model and whether it's for a narrow or wide door frame. Confirm your step's model number before ordering a strut so the attachment points and travel match. If you're unsure which version you have, check the label on the step or your original paperwork.
Match the step to your door frame width and your entry height. Measure the inside of the door frame so the step brackets can catch the frame lip; too narrow won't engage even with adjustment.
