RV Access Doors for 3 Inch Wide Cutout
Getting the size right makes replacement easy—these RV access doors fit a 3 inch wide cutout for a clean pass-through. Handy for routing power cords or water hoses on trailers, generator sheds, or storage boxes. When installed with sealant, they seal against the outer wall and can be a quick swap if your existing holes line up.
Usually the door itself isn't designed to come off by itself. The front-facing portion can detach, so you can replace that without pulling the entire assembly and redoing the seal. Check the hinge design before buying; small plastic hinge pins can snap if stressed, so handle the lid gently.
Match the overall size and the mounting hole pattern to your existing opening. Some options fit in place of a standard cable hatch in this size, but hole spacing can differ, so measure center-to-center before drilling. If switching to a different inlet style, its trim may not cover the old round hatch's holes—confirm coverage first.
Installation can be quick when the holes line up, even about a minute for some swaps. Many come with screws and putty, and they seal well against the outer wall when installed correctly. If you're cutting a new hole with a hole saw, measure carefully and seal the cutout to help keep it leak-proof.
A 3 Inch Wide Cutout access door works well for cords and hoses. It's been used for 50 amp cords, a NG hose, water hoses in a wet bay, and standard extension cords. If you're running a smaller 12/3 cord, look for an opening like 1" or 3/4". If space is tight behind the wall, note some options top out around 2-3/8 inches deep.
