I bought a Sleeve-Lock A-Frame Trailer Coupler CA-5296-B on order 124808868. Is there a manufacturer welding pattern for this coupler? I didn’t see anything in the shipping box. If so, please send me those instructions. Please advise. Douglas Marx

I am sorry to report that the manufacturer does not have a weld pattern or installation instructions available for the Sleeve-Lock A-Frame Trailer Coupler # CA-5296-B. I know that would make the installation a little easier.

Since this is a weld-on coupler, it should be installed by a qualified welder. The coupler needs to be centered on the trailer's 50-degree A-frame and positioned so it is fully seated against the frame rails before welding. It is a good idea to verify the coupler is square with the trailer frame and that the ball socket is aligned straight with the trailer before making the final welds. Once everything is properly positioned, complete the welds using a process and weld size appropriate for the trailer frame material and thickness.

If you are not sure where the welds should go, I attached our Dealer Locator so you can find someone in your area who is an experienced welder.

What kind of trailer is this going on?

Exactly what we did for welding it on. I removed the old material, lined it up, tacked it on and my welder guy burned it in. A superb set up, I really like it

I took my trailer and the new coupler to my local welding shop. They cut off the old worn out coupler and welded the new one on. That was months ago and I've had no issues with the new coupler. Sorry I couldn't be more help. I don't know welding rod from a lightning rod. :-)
