Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com Today, we take a look at this TorkLift fortress power lock, for your RV shore powercord access door. Now this is a nice sturdy aluminum door lock. That'll cover the powercord access door on your RV, to keep your cables safe and secure. The locking door on this prevents theft of your RV shore power cord. You can see you can open it up to gain access to it.
This covers the access door on your RV, so that the cable can't be cut or stolen. You can see it does include the two keys, but basically you can plug your cord in right here. And then when you rotate the door over that, and then lock it, pull your key out, your cord will still come out through here, but it'll stay plugged in. The built-in slot here, lets you run the cord out to shore power while your door remains closed and securely locked. Comes with the two keys, and to open it up, all you have to do is put your key in there.
Turn it a quarter of a turn, and then you can open the door, just like that. It is a durable, aircraft-grade aluminum construction. Uses a white corrosion-resistant, powder-coat finish on it to protect it. Does come with the mounting hardware to install it. This part is made in the USA.
Comes with a nice set of detailed instructions, that'll describe how this installs. A few dimensions on this. The length of this, the door closed is right at 7 1/8 inches. Total height on it, from the very bottom, very top, is right at 5 5/8. And the depth of it, is only gonna be right at about 1 5/8 inches.
Now, if you go to our product page, we do put more dimensions on there of these holes and that. So if you do need to know some other dimensions, I would recommend to go to the product page, cause there's more on the product page. But again, just to show you to unlock it, put your key in there, turn it a quarter of a turn, let's you release it, and unplug your plug, or plug your plug in. Once it's done, just go ahead and flip this back over. Rotate a quarter of a turn, remove the key and it stays locked. But that should do it for the review, on the is TorkLift fortress power lock, for the RV shore power cord access door..

Worked great with the Valtera shore power hatch
Overall, I like the looks of the Fortress PowerLock. However, I was very disappointed to find that you use the cheap, mass produced cam lock everyone else in the RV industry uses! Every outside storage hatch on my RV (Jayco) uses EXACTLY the same camlock which has EXACTLY the same key to open/unlock it with. That means that practically ANYONE who owns an RV has a key to my Fortress PowerLock! How does this provide me with any security? It is my opinion that you should boost the price of the PowerLock by $10 and buy a decent camlock that isn't keyed like every other lock in the RV industry. If I was rating on a "satisfaction" level, it'd be a "Poor" rating.
Solid product, easy installation
Great lock for my trailer power cord!
The power lock arrived at other than buyers location as ordered and is in new working condition. The tracking was right on and I was notified when the lock was delivered and received. I am sure I will be making other purchases from etrailer in the future.
