If your Jeep Wrangler has a different bumper than the standard factory, please let me know because that would change which base plate is compatible with your vehicle.
This flat tow setup is for a 2014 Wrangler with the standard factory bumper:
-Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BLU53FR
-Blue Ox Avail Tow Bar # BX7420
-Blue Ox 7' Safety Cables # BX88197
-Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit # HM39VR
-Roadmaster Battery Disconnect # RM-766
-Blue Ox Patriot Portable Braking System # BLU37TR
-Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25
The Blue Ox base plate has removable arms that directly connects to the Avail tow bar.
For wiring, the Hopkins custom kit avoids splicing wires and plugs into the factory taillights for a easy install.
The Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR is a good option if you prefer a portable braking system that can move between vehicles and is easy to use with a straightforward setup.
The charge line is highly recommended on Wranglers since the supplemental braking system and vehicle electronics can slowly drain the battery during long travel days.
Got any trips planned once the Wrangler is ready to tow?

Follow their recommendations. Have it on my 2026 Gladiator, and works perfectly. Glad I have these products, works perfectly!

This is the same hookup I use for my Gladiator and I have no complaints about it. I have used the Blue Ox tow system for about 5 years, first on my 2003 Wrangler, and now on the 2023 Gladiator. The base plate is not really difficult to install, but the right tools are a must. A couple of holes have to be drilled and if you have the metal shield at the bottom of the bumper, it has to be cut to allow for the base plate. I did mine in my garage in about 3 hours or so.
