Choose between key locks or thumb locks for the access you want, and pick colors like black or polar white to match your rig.
Use the included hardware and seal-putty when provided, or add butyl tape and a non-sag sealant to the mounting flange. The box or packaging can work as a cutout template, and installs can take about 20-30 minutes. After mounting, confirm the latch holds the door fully closed at the top to help keep water out.
Measure the cutout hole and match it to the listed cutout size, not just the outside dimensions. Sizes like 6-7/8" tall x 6-3/8" wide are common references. If your opening is smaller, expect to expand it slightly. Also check the outside dimensions to be sure the flange won't overlap trim or obstructions.
Verify the exact color and sheen—black may be flat black, not gloss. If you're routing a heavy cord or expect frequent use, check the door thickness and material to suit your needs. If you want to pass a cable with the door shut, look for a design with a notch to help reduce rain entry.
Decide between a key lock and a thumb-style latch if you just need to keep the door closed. Some only come with a key lock and may include a single key.
