Does the Oscillating Air Outlet Face the Front or Rear on the Furrion Chill Cube AC?

Question:

Does the oscillating outlet for cool air face toward the front or the rear of the RV? Are there options?

Hello Wayne,

Great question, because this is one of those details that isn’t obvious until you look closely at the install.

On the Furrion Chill Cube # FR59TD, the oscillating outlet is designed to face the front of the RV. During installation, the mounting frame is labeled “THIS WAY FRONT,” which tells you exactly how it needs to be oriented. Once it’s installed correctly, the main air outlet will be pointed forward.

There aren’t alternate options to flip the outlet toward the rear. The unit is built to install in that one direction, and instead of aiming airflow both ways, it uses the oscillating feature to sweep the air side to side across the cabin. That’s what helps distribute the cool air more evenly throughout the space.

I can confirm that it does face forward. This unit is super quiet and blows extremely cold air. From my experience so far, I will buy another one of these units. Also, there is no condensation buildup on top of RV.

Works great in our FR 2023 Galleria 24' RV van. Very cold when needed and quiet most of time; can always hear each other talk. The internal electronics control the fan and condenser so it cycles smoothly. No drips inside the van, like our old 12volt AC that came with the Galleria. Took our time installing and no great problems. Biggest challenges for me was removing old AC and getting Furrion Cube on the roof correctly. Forest River had already installed an extra 14ga wire from the ceiling to floor power and one 120volt panel slot was available for a 20amp breaker. With a ribbed top roof, I had to ensure there would be no leakage, so used molded insulation gaskets on top to fit roof ribs, and extra marine adhesive sealant all around. We just drove thunderstorms and no leaks!
