Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at the locking multipurpose access door. This is going to be a great addition to your RV or travel trailer. It's going to help secure your fuel access or any small cargo area that you may be wanting to close off but still have access to. This is made of a very durable UV and impact resistant plastic.
It's also going to resist any road salts and acids. You can see this is the polar white color, but it can be painted if you would prefer to more closely match your color scheme on your RV or travel trailer.Obviously one of the biggest features is the locking capability. It is going to come with one key that we can use. Let me turn this around here so you can see. It's going to control that latch there so we can close that up, make sure the door won't open or turn it to open up.
The key is numbered, so if you do need a replacement or something, you can use that number to get the exact replacement for the lock.Do want to give you a few measurements here to make sure that this is going to be the fit for you. Our total width, this is going to be right about seven and five eights of an inch. Our height, about six and a half inches. We open up the door here, our opening measurements, looking at about five and three quarters of an inch wide and four and five eights of an inch tall. Our collar depth is right at about one and a half inches, might be closer to one and nine sixteenths of an inch.As far as our cutout, you are going to need a cutout that is five and seven eighths of an inch wide and four and three quarters of an inch tall.
It is going to be just a little bit larger than our collar here, but you do want to have a little bit of wiggle room to get this inserted. Don't want to go much wider than that because you will need room to get this mounted. You can see we've got the pre drilled screw holes there, so you aren't going to want to have a cutout that is bigger than those so that you still have something to attach those to.And if you don't already, we do offer a kit to help you get this installed. It's got the butyl tape and screws there. Butyl tape, if you're not familiar with it, it's kind of like a tacky substance that you'll put on the backside so that when you put the screws through there, it'll kind of squish that down.
It'll create a nice watertight barrier so that you're not getting any water seeping back into the side of your RV or any of those screw holes, anything like that. So just a nice way of getting this all sealed and installed so that it will last for a long time. That's going to complete our look at the locking multipurpose access door. If this is not the product that you need, maybe you need one with different dimensions, or different features to it. We do have lots of different options here at etrailer.com. Our goal is always to make sure that you're getting the product that you need to solve your problem. So if this is not the one that you need, I'd encourage you to come take a look at our other options. That's why we provide these videos to make sure that you are getting the right product the first time. That's going to complete our look at the locking multipurpose access door. Thanks for watching.

Went in easily and looks great. Used butyl tape to seal. Have to see if it’s tight. No more critter fightin’!
Great door. Good quality plastic. But pay attention, it only comes with 2 keys as noted in the description. Who sells locks with only one key?
Key was missing, but after contacting etrailer, they sent me 2 keys right away.
Very customer service!
The access door is just what I needed, but why is there no key
We ordered this access door for our 2002 truck camper and it fit perfectly.
Door could be just a little more rigid but ok
Exactly what I needed to access the non opening door so I can pour in bleach to annually disinfect the fresh water tank. My bus does not have a gravity fill so I plumbed a pcv valve and screw cap but it needed a way to get to it. The co and propane detector simply replaced an outdated one.
Exactly what I was looking for.
exactly as described
