The Blue Ox SwayPro’s head is built with a positive caster angle that works like the self-centering effect in your steering system. Combined with the tensioned trunnion bars, it constantly pulls the trailer back in line, even when a semi blasts by or crosswinds hit. The rotating lift brackets keep the chains tight, so there’s no rattle or clank, and sway control stays active all the time. The result is smoother handling and a quieter ride without the grinding or popping common in friction-style setups.
Getting loaded up doesn’t have to be a workout. With the SwayPro, you just drop the lift chain into the slot and use the included wrench to rotate the bracket until it locks. No snapping up high-tension bars or wrestling with levers. When it’s time to disconnect, the same rotation releases the tension in a controlled way. It’s simple, fast, and safer once you know the motion. Many users upgrade to a longer breaker bar for extra leverage, but the system itself is straightforward and predictable.
This model is designed specifically for trailers with bottom-mounted (underslung) couplers. The hitch head arrives with the correct preset angle, so there’s no washer stacking or fine-tuning needed. Just mount it on the shank, adjust for height, and lock the trunnion bars in place with the included pins and clips. The 13" shank offers up to 8" of rise or 2" of drop, making it easy to dial in a level setup on your first try.
This system is rated for 10,000 lbs gross towing weight and 750–1,000 lbs tongue weight. The hitch ball is 2-5/16" and rated at 20K, giving plenty of margin for heavy loads. The clamp-on brackets fit up to 6" trailer frames, and grease zerks in the head assembly make maintenance clean and easy. Everything—head, bars, shank, lift chains, and hardware—comes in the box, ready to install. Once set up, it levels your rig, evens out axle load, and keeps your headlights aimed where they should be.

It works really well. I’ve have other types, and this one works as good but is much easier to connect.
