Insert these helper springs in between the individual coil loops in either your front or rear coil springs to defeat driver fatigue and add better support for heavy loads. Most factory front coil suspensions have a difficult time supporting heavy front loads like winches, brush guards and snowplows. The rear coils may struggle with supporting the extra load placed on your rear axle when you're towing a trailer or using a hitch-mounted cargo carrier or bike rack. If your coil springs are totally squished under a load, the lack of shock absorption can be harsh on your backside, especially if you spend long hours sitting in your vehicle while clearing snow or driving to a campsite.

Coil SumoSpring installed between rungs of coil spring

Inside each helper spring, a core of microcellular polyurethane foam adds cushioning between your coils to make your ride more comfortable. Each doughnut-shaped spring has H-shaped channels at the top and bottom that fit to the rung of an individual coil in your front or rear coil springs. The cushioning absorbs shock, but also works progressively to better support weight, keeping your truck level.

Unlike air springs that fit inside your coil springs, these polyurethane springs require no air pressure monitoring, and they are easier to install. Say goodbye to air lines, valves and air tanks and hello to maintenance-free suspension support. Unbumpify your ride with Coil SumoSprings for coil suspensions.

OEM springs not strong enough. After installed feels a lot stiffer and raised the back 2". Material looks really good. Installation done in 40 min using a nut driver, a flat head screw driver and hand soap. I did have to take wheel off it just makes like easier.

2005 Honda Cr-V, they went on pretty easy, it was a tight fit but no trimming required. I jacked the car up on some stands, had both sides installed and zip tied in 45 minutes..

Sumo springs installed without removing tires, just used a 2 ton floor jack to lift the rear tire off the ground to put the lift spring in a negative relaxed position. Then followed instructions and cleaned springs with dish soap and water, also used solution on sumo lift coil. Coil snaked between lift springs without any problems. Placed Ty’s per instructions using a needle nose pliers to pull tyes securely in place and cut off any excess tye. Sumo are working great .!! If you haul a trailer get these springs lifts the really do work according to advertisers info.

Delivered on time. Installed on 2015 Kia Sorento. Super easy. Took the tires off the rear to install. Left the tires on for fronts. Having a much, much better ride now. Went from a sloppy rolling mess to a much more controlled experience. Highly recommend.

Review from a similar SumoSprings Coil in Vehicle Suspension

Installed pretty easily. The trick is to start at the bottom of the spring and push it up. Didn’t need to apply any soap but springs were pretty clean to begin with (38K miles). The kit did not come with zip ties even though the etrailer description says it should, but the Sumosprings documentation clearly states they are not included.

Installed the CSS-1168R Coil SumoSprings Custom Helper spacers on a 2011 Honda Ridgeline 4 wheel drive rear springs. Installation took about 45 minutes including removal of tires. Once spacer was started the installation was easy. Zip ties were a little more difficult because of the dust strut covers installed by Honda.

Ok installed outside january 27th. Temp 10 degree windchill -5. I used canola oil since it stays slippery when cold. I recommend taking off the tires. Also wirebrush the coil spring to get rust and debris off. Coat coil spring in canola oil. Also 1997 crv rear will require about 3/4"-1" off of the helper spring before hand. The driver side took 15-20 mins the passenger less than 5. My car rear was sagging it sits level or slightly above level now in the rear. Mileage of vehicle is 73k shocks struts and springs are original. Curt class 3 hitch is also installed on vehicle. I am curious to see how it does while pulling a 5x8 trailer. Overall seems good only time will tell. Wondering how installing two on a side would do?

Comments
So far so good it eliminates sag while towing or having heavier objects in the vehicle.

I put these on my 2016 Expedition EL Ecoboost after buying a travel trailer. The truck had plenty of power but as anyone could exped the IRS Sucks under heavy load and our first trip from east bay to Anehime made everyone sick from all the sway. I'm here to tell you this is the best $80 I have every spent upgrading any of my vehicles. I have since sold that trailer and now tow a heavier 28' TT and it pulls amazing. surprisingly it only affects the spring rate at fuller compression which is great for towing. Normal driving with no trailer feels exactly the same.

They seemed to help with towing our popup camper on our 2012 Highlander. The popup is 2,800 pounds unladen weight. Installation was very easy. I didn’t have to remove the tires. Just jacked up the rear of the vehicle to gain a little more access and they slide right into the coils. I feel that the price was pretty steep considering all the more that they are and they couldn’t even throw in the zip ties to boot. Claimed to be made in USA, but I can only hope that they were again considering the price. All in all I’m pleased with them.

I was looking for an alternative way to help my cars suspension when having additional passengers or bicycles or other items in tow, These Sumo spring helpers are the solution. My 2012 Chevrolet Malibu suspension has it's normal comfortable ride yet is able to assist when I add a little more weight to the car. I also want to thank etrailer and the team again for their abundant information and helpful videos to make my decision making much easier. The team at etrailer is always friendly and knowledgeable too. This is why I always seek them out and share with others about them too.

I could not place the SumoSprings in the middle of the coil springs to start installation. Rather I had to start lower on the coil springs, where the spacing is wider, and then slide the SumoSprings up to the middle. I used a screwdriver run into the holes for that purpose to help slide the SumoSprings to the middle of the coil springs. Otherwise, the installation went well. There seems to be less squat in the rear of my '04 Highlander when my camping trailer is attached.

Comments
There still seems to be less squat with my camping trailer attached. It is leveled out a bit.

The instructions, well!! lack a bit of detail. My first instinct was to return them . I called the manufactures tech line ,and got the 10-36 asap. ........ after that the install was a breeze !! I am in the opinion these helper springs will stiffen the rear coil enough to balance a heavier tongue or small trailer weight.

Comments
Do these work well towing a 2200 lb work trailer hauling a moderate load with a 03 tahoe
-- comment by: Tracy - 06/08/2014

Depending on what a moderate load is, yes they can offset the trailer tongue weight nicely. Let us know what weight you're working with, it will help give us a better picture of your needs. Also, how far down does the Tahoe squat when you hook up the loaded trailer?

Review from a similar SumoSprings Coil in Vehicle Suspension

I received the Sumo Springs Coil Helper yesterday and was able to install it in less than an hour on my 2007 Odyssey. May be even quicker if I had a better jack(i had to lift one side at a time). My van now has raised significantly. With a three Mountain bike rack, camping gear loaded with the roof box, the van's rear end was too sagged. I gained close to two inches after installation. I do notice a difference in the cushioning, but that is very marginal. Overall, I am very happy about this product and would recommend if your car's rear end needs a lift/ support. Installation was very simple with the hand soap applied. I will do a follow-up review after few weeks when I put a few hundred miles for my summer trips.

Installed sumo springs on my 2007 Toyota Prius. They installed fairly easily in about 15 minutes per wheel. I had to trim approximately 3 inches off of each sumo spring. I used ivory soap bar to lubricate the springs before install. The rear of the car was raised maybe 2 inches as a result. I do not notice any adverse changes in the handling of the vehicle when not loaded. Moving cross country soon and need to load up vehicle so not bottoming rear springs. overall very pleased with the product. Received Quick delivery of product from etrailer.

I used the Sumo Springs on a 2014 VW Passat TDI SEL in the rear. I like the product, my car always had that overloaded look I tow a small trailer and the car's suspension was to soft. The Sumo spring Support works great on my car the car came up about half inch and under load it gives the needed support I was locking for. I also like that I have not to mess around with any air adjustment and it tis maintenance free. The install was easy and I was done in about 45 minutes. The toughest part was to cut it for the instructed length for my car.

Initial reaction is positive - I installed front and rear sumo helper springs yesterday (5-23-19) and did a test drive around the block. The side to side pitching of our Transit Class B+ motorhome was greatly reduced. I still need to test on highway. I did not install the optional spacers that increase the ride height and reaction time of the rear sumo springs. The spacers will be added later if needed.

I installed the SumoSprings on a 2009 Honda Ridgeline to be able to tow a Winnebago 2106 trailer. With the springs installed I have had no problems towing. The Trar as I call it, part Truck and part Car does not dip / sag with the trailer connected. Practiced emergency braking and did not have any problems. I would recommend this product. Did not take any pictures with it connected, sorry. They were pretty easy to install, the soap and water helped a lot.

Just finished installing these on my 2014 Ford Expedition EL Limited. Very easy to install. Never removed the wheel to install. Jacked the vehicle up one side at a time and did the install. Haven't hooked to my 30ft camper yet to see how they work. Will update after my trip in July.
